Many worlds, one economy. Everything is united under SORA.

The first quarter of 2023 has ended, and industries and projects are reviewing their achievements while planning for future progress. This is an opportunity to reflect on SORA’s accomplishments towards its goals across various tracks and to reiterate the value that a new economic system brings to the world. To learn more about this, read this article.

Systems provide structure and support for creating innovative tools that can enhance users’ lives and the societies they serve. SORA aims to be a novel and rational economic system, as discussed in this article. The tools available within the network prioritize making economic systems accessible to all users, not just seasoned experts. This accessibility should make it easy for anyone to take advantage of these breakthroughs.

The main tools that the SORA network provides come in the form of wallets, such as the SORA wallet for interacting with native network tokens like XOR, VAL, PSWAP, TBCD, XST, and more, as well as Fearless Wallet, the interoperable Substrate super wallet. With the wallet in place, you can fearlessly access SORA’s economy and own your assets. Next comes the beating heart of the economy: Polkaswap.io, which offers all the token swapping, staking, and farming tools in a beautiful, intuitive, and stylish interface.

Decentralized finance allows everyone to have direct control over their assets without intermediaries like brokers or bankers. However, the inherent responsibility that DeFi brings to users is not without its risks. Therefore, it is crucial to have access to data. Without data, you are navigating in the dark. Data shines a light on the vast unknown, revealing its secrets and helping you choose the best path to follow. The light at the end of the tunnel leads to a bright outcome.

As the spring arrives, we continue to work hard to advance the progress of the SORA integrated plan. In the last update, we shared the great news that the SORA Kusama parachain lease had been renewed, thanks to all the contributors that locked KSM to help this happen. With the renewed lease, work on the Substrate bridge continues, with public testing coming soon. We hope you will help ensure that the final bridge is up to SORA standards.

The trustless multi-EVM bridge is getting a UI, and work is ongoing to make it as easy and intuitive for you to use, just like the HASHI bridge. Order book development is progressing smoothly, and the core implementation is ongoing. SORA release 1.9.0 was successfully implemented, improving network stability and laying the foundation for great innovations coming down the pipeline. For those who are interested, a changelog is available here. We ask all SORA network validators, affectionately known as node runners, to update their nodes to v1.9.0.

We published an exciting article about the SORA VALidator token and its new TradFi use. Along with the exciting utilities that the VAL token brings, having a tie to real-life finance cements its position as the store of value for the network. If you are not familiar with VAL, take a look at this article to get yourself up to speed.

Polkaswap is a stylish and intuitive tool available for all users of the SORA network, Polkadot and Kusama networks, and beyond. Diligent and attentive work is done to ensure that the promise of freedom, decentralization, and innovative access to liquidity is provided. With the latest Polkaswap release, features such as Fearless Wallet integration and informative charts have been added. Polkaswap 1.15 has a status bar highlighting connection statistics, direct access to pools and token swaps, and a velocity coefficient of the tokens available in the Explore section. Velocity coefficient (VC) is a term used in TradFi to define the monthly average of times that a currency changes hands and is a good indicator for the asset’s liquidity and trading activity.

Along with all the information and features available on Polkaswap, we are working hard in collaboration with other project teams through the Polkaswap-as-a-service initiative to provide you with all the major tokens within the blockchain space. The team is working hard to bring even more tokens to Polkaswap to make it the one-stop exchange where you can find, trade, and pool all the tokens you want, with boundless liquidity.

Polkaswap will provide access to the SORA Card, which gives you control over your finances. Stay tuned for updates on the SORA Card as we prepare for the launch of phase one. We are committed to ensuring safety and compliance for all parties involved, with the ultimate goal of giving you peace of mind.

Along with the work being done to BUIDL, SORA contributors have also been out and about sharing the good news of SORA to inspire future buidlers on the network through brainstorms, panel discussions, and presentations. This time, collaborators attended the Polkadot India event…

… and the Polkadot Safari event, which took place in Nairobi.

IRL events like these are great because they provide projects in the crypto space with an opportunity to interact with other project teams. This helps foster an environment of collaboration and unity within the ecosystem, which lifts up everyone. Most importantly, these events allow teams to touch base with users, empowering them to better understand the projects and their different use cases. As a result, they can contribute to or build solutions that have a real impact on peoples’ lives using the technologies that are currently available.

At the end of the day, all the work we do is to help users improve their lives. Through the technologies that we diligently build, they can find solutions for their communities that create significant changes and improvements in the world.

You are now up to speed with what has happened in the last few weeks in the SORA ecosystem and the current state of the SORA Integrated Plan. Please stay tuned for upcoming news from all of the SORA contributors, and we’ll see you again in two weeks. Let’s get back to work!

SORA Ecosystem Update #58

Business Track Progress:

  • Polkaswap as a Service — 80%
  • SORA Card — 95%
  • SORA IBAN — 95%

Polkaswap-as-a-service has made significant progress by onboarding its first liquidity programme partnership with Ternoa, which involves locking CAPS in a liquidity pool on Polkaswap for community members to enjoy cheap and fast trading. This is just the first step in our partnership.

The PaaS business track has made 80% progress, as we are working on additional Polkaswap business partners in the background, on top of our liquidity programme offering. You will hear more about this when it is ready!

SORA Card sign-ups are currently being reviewed by our banking partner, as well as Google and Apple. “Wen” depends on third parties from here. The development of the next phase, which allows you to exchange EUR ←→ XOR and use the virtual and physical card, is being worked on every day.

We are continuously releasing SORA Card articles with topics covering the introduction of SORA Card, key features of SORA Card, a comparison between SORA Card and other crypto-powered banking services, an interview with the people behind the SORA Card tech and management, and a recent article on SORA Card Phase One. The SORA community recently held an AMA with Dr. Makoto Takemiya and Beno van Gansen regarding SORA Card, and you can read all about it in this recap.

Stay tuned for more articles with interesting and insightful information on this great tool for financial freedom. SORA Card | Value Freedom
