Election Countdown #12 — Maybe I’ll Just Sit This One Out
We’re coming up on a momentous event — which way will we choose?
Here are the previous posts:
There are now 12 days until voting-in-person day. In some states, that means you’ll get to be intimidated when you go to cast your ballot. Or you will have to stand in line for hours, maybe all day, just to cast your vote. And they won’t allow you to bring food and water.
Voting
Well, I don’t really want to vote anyway. In many districts, it doesn’t matter. The gerrymandering is so severe that the incumbent never has much of a challenge. That’s job security!
If I’m in one of those areas, I don’t have to vote. The incumbent will win without me.
Once all the areas are set, no one will have to vote anymore. Unless the incumbent decides to retire. Then you’ll be faced with choosing a new politician to keep sucking your hard-earned dollars away from you and into the hands of the really rich.
Isn’t that fun? You’d like to think the person will at least treat you nice, since you’re helping them satisfy their masters.
