Hi Friends,

your editor Maria Angel Ferrero here.

Another week has passed and amazing stories were published in The Faculty.

Our education systems all around the globe have been trying to cope with the new normal. We are all trying to adapt in the best possible way to this, let’s be honest, terrifying, and uncertain situation.

In Europe, the second wave (if we can say the first wave actually went down) of the outbreak is already sending home thousands of students, faculty, and administrators. The sanitary protocols are being reinforced and the hope for a ‘back-to-normal’ semester has vanished.

In the U.S. where the outbreak continues to cost thousands of lives, the current political, economic, and societal landscape is putting the education system in the spotlight. The pitfalls of American Education has never been more highlighted in the past.

This week we are still looking at personal stories on how we see the future of education and how we can make those changes real. We are also looking for articles sharing strategies and tips to make online and hybrid classes more engaging amid the prevailing COVID-19 outbreak while helping students, faculty, and administrators to cope with the emotional distress of this fall semester. If you want to share your story, please join us.

I am sincerely grateful for all the writers who are joining the conversation and have shared with us their most personal stories, inviting us to lead the change and do better. Join the conversation here and tell us how are you doing to cope with stress and uncertainty this fall.

Meanwhile, here’s the best of The Faculty stories for you.

As a representative republic, power in the United States lies in the ability to influence the masses. The more uninformed, desperate, and ignorant the majority of the citizens, the easier they are to control. As a result, education in the United States of America will always be the target of sabotage from the actions of corrupt politicians and other special interest groups.
