I don’t believe in writer’s block.
Or singer’s block.
Or any other block that might be out there.
But what I do believe in is consumer’s block.
You have a choice:
You can either try to sell to almost everyone and make around a dollar or so per customer and barely survive or you can try to sell to almost no one and make around a thousand dollar per customer and thrive.
To your readers, viewers, listeners, customers or clients is the only thing that really matters these days.
Because everything else is interchangeable.
Products are.
Brands are.
The real reason why retail stores are dying is because they offer poor customer service.
But the only reason to buy things in retail stores to begin with is to get great customer service.
You could try to rank for hot keywords.
Or for that new niche.
Or for the long tail.
But you’re probably never going to rank for that.
Ever.
Don’t waste your time overthinking and analyzing why it didn’t work out.
Why your book didn’t sell.
Why no one liked your blog post.
Great customer service can save a mediocre product.
But it can’t save a shitty product.
Just like a great product can’t save a shitty customer service.
Every year hundreds of thousands of books are being published.
And this doesn’t even include the millions of self published books.
There’s the marketing we learn in school and big corporations.
The kind of marketing where all you have to do is to create a few fancy ads, some smart strategies and plans and that’s pretty much about it already.
Instead of starting with a launch day and hoping that people will end up buying from you, why not build a community around your product, your niche or your industry before you start building your product? Before you even start deciding about what product to build?
