This is a continuation of Hunting a Demon, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story started by JF Danskin and written in drabbles and double-drabbles. Find out more here, or return to the previous chapter: ‘Your Heart Sinks as you Approach’ or ‘The Dagger of Failure’.

You turn and sprint towards the light. Henk calls out once, then collapses in a whimpering mess.

It’s over; you’re not going to risk life and limb fighting that enormous demon! You’re not crazy.

You don’t know how long you were unconscious in the cave, but it’s now a beautiful sunny morning outside.

A glorious career lies ahead of you.

Until…

In your hurry to escape, you stumble on a treacherous stone and pitch forward, banging your head, rolling, then falling over a cliff.

Perhaps, you think as you fall, Finnart and the fishy locathah people will find your body.

The End.

Thanks for reading! You could always go back and try a different option 😅
