This is a continuation of Hunting a Demon, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story started by JF Danskin and written in drabbles and double-drabbles. Find out more here, or return to the previous chapter: ‘The Gates of Hell’.

Grabbing the guttering torch, you move along the vast tunnel. Henk has climbed after you. There’s only one way to go — downwards.

“We’re going to die,” says Henk. “Impachik is unstoppable.”

You growl. Henk’s right — the huge demon is ferocious — but his attitude annoys you! Angelika needs saved. Somehow, the demon must be stopped.

You pause at a side tunnel. You can glimpse daylight. A promise of freedom!

Without doubt, the demon is further into the caves, with Angelika in its clutches…

You love to think of yourself as a hero, but would confronting Impachik actually be a suicide mission…?

After a moment’s reflection, you decide to…

  1. Carry on. The demon must be stopped (click here).
  2. Get the hell out of here. Angelika is done for, but you can at least try to save your own skin (click here).
