Yield Guild Games (YGG) is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with the venture fund arm of LongHash Ventures, one of the world’s leading web3 investment firms and accelerators. LongHash is known for providing insights on governance, building renowned web3 projects, and connecting their partners to a larger community and ecosystem. Through this partnership, LongHash are now YGG token holders and will play an active part in shaping the future of YGG’s guild protocol and developing its tokenomics around questing and on-chain guild progression.

LongHash Ventures is a team of crypto natives specialized in bootstrapping ecosystems for web3 protocols. Their funds have invested in over 100 web3 startups, including raising US$150 million for infrastructure and gaming companies in Asia. Some of the protocols they ran genesis accelerator cohorts for include Polkadot, Filecoin, Safe, Cosmos/Neutron, and Axelar. And some of the other companies they have invested in include zkSync, Saga, Astar, and Balancer.

“Humans are social creatures, hence on-chain guilds are a key missing piece that will accelerate web3 gaming adoption. In retrospect, it will seem obvious, and inevitable. People want to find their tribe, and YGG will be the tribe of tribes, the guild of guilds,” said Wei Shi Khai, co-founder of LongHash Ventures. “Since the first breakout of web3 gaming, YGG has been a pioneer and a leader. Now it is time for YGG to once again lead the charge by reimagining guilds, questing and social gaming.”

The LongHash partnership further solidifies YGG’s position as a guild of guilds innovating systems for web3 gamers to connect and discover new games together. YGG has been pivotal in helping onboard and retain thousands of new players in games such as Axie Infinity: Origins and Pixels. Multiple partnered web3 games in the YGG ecosystem have embraced the guild’s innovative questing platforms, such as Superquests and the Guild Advancement Program (GAP). GAP Season 4 saw a 147% surge in sign-ups compared to GAP Season 3 and 33,681 quest enrollments, a 243% increase from the previous season.

YGG’s introduction of on-chain reputation has revolutionized web3 gaming ecosystems, providing players opportunities to build their credibility as constructive contributors to the space, while developers gain valuable insights into their community. The results have been significant, with the unique wallet numbers and social media engagement among partner games increasing steadily.

“There have been a lot of changes since YGG was established, but the core was always to become a platform for forming, coordinating and scaling on-chain guilds. This partnership with LongHash Ventures is invaluable to YGG’s goals as a guild of guilds,” said YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon. “Through our joint efforts, we can accelerate web3 adoption in emerging markets and provide opportunities in this internet-first economy. The environment has been positive, and people are looking forward to what we can bring next. We’re excited to see the fruit that will come from working together in 2024 and beyond.”

Since YGG’s inception in 2020, it has established partnerships with 101 games and networks including XPLA, Oasys, Polygon, Base, and Ronin, while backing numerous other infrastructure projects to enhance onboarding, DeFi accessibility, growth tooling, and more for the web3 gaming space. YGG’s partnerships are valued at US$50.41 million as of February 2024. This remarkable growth in the value of the YGG treasury is a result of YGG’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of web3 gaming, even amid two years of challenging market conditions.

From its roots with YGG Pilipinas in the Philippines, YGG now supports a network of 3 million gamers in seven other regions worldwide to build local web3 gaming communities. Guild partners like NYXL in North America, OLA GG in Latin America, and SKYGG in Korea are actively developing a thriving web3 esports scene in their regions, introducing large pools of competitive players to web3 games. W3GG in Southeast Asia and Kratos Studios (formerly IndiGG) in India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia are also onboarding thousands of new web3 gamers onto their platforms, which include quests in both web2 and web3 titles. The YGG network also includes YGG Japan and AMG DAO in Eastern Europe, each providing hyperlocalized services tailored to their communities’ needs.
