Introduction
Well met, adventurer — welcome to The Hero’s Hold! In this series, we track the details about heroes in DeFi Kingdoms, with game news, statistics, metrics, and more!
The snapshot for all of this week’s data was taken on 3/28 at 8am ET.

Heroic Happenings
This week’s news was dominated by the Avalanche Summit in Barcelona, and boy was there a lot of it! Let’s recap a bit.
Avalanche Summit Announcements
DeFi Kingdoms team members took part in four sessions during the three-day summit. VODs for all of them can be found below:

Highlights from the Keynote
So, what all did we learn from the Keynote? In short, a lot. Aside from the impending launch of Crystalvale, in terms of gameplay, we saw:
New Hero Classes
We were finally introduced to two of the three Crystalvale Hero classes with the Seer and Berkserker. The third, still unknown class, will be an Advanced class coming from the combination of the other two.
Hero Duels
A new “Hero Duels” mini-game is in the works, which will also players to pit their Heroes against each other in a simplified version of combat. Keep in mind that this is not the 3v3 PVP battles that we will see later. Expect Hero Duels to be one of the first offerings from Jester Grendel in the Castle.
Pet Teasers
A reminder that pets will be coming soon, and will be openable through the Hatchery — a new zone coming to Serendale. As the image indicates — and as we’ve heard previously in AMAs, pets will come in a variety of rarities, and will provide bonuses for both combat and professions.
Leaderboard Contests
First announced in a recent AMA, we’ll soon be seeing Leaderboard contests that give out prizes (including CV Gen0s!) for a variety of in-game activities. As the team noted during/after that AMA, these contests will be designed to benefit multiple sizes of player wallets, not just the biggest whales.
Combat Teaser
And while we still readily await details, we also got a work-in-progress teaser of what combat could look like, in this case, PVE combat that could be linked to the upcoming travel system:
Business Partnerships
Multiple announcements for business partnerships with:
- Coinbase Wallet
- BENQI (Lending)
- DPX (Option Vaults)
- Synapse (Bridging)
- Ramp (Fiat On-Ramp — already implemented!)

The Summoner’s Circle
Let’s take a look at some statistics for all of the heroes that have been summoned so far.
- Total Heroes: 163,033 (+3,776 / 2.37%)
- Living Heroes: 140,419
Hero Growth
Hero summoning has continued at a relatively slow pace, and declining over the course of the week. The total number of heroes increased by 3,776 (2.37%), while our new metric of Living Heroes evened out and is now moving alongside the total number.

• Mar. 28: 163,033 (+3,776 / 2.37%)
• Mar. 21: 159,257 (+4,499 / 2.9%)
• Mar. 14: 154,758 (+4,234 / 2.81%)
• Mar. 7: 150,524 (+9,788 / 6.95%)
Tavern Volume
Tavern sales again spiked mid-week, but otherwise remained relatively flat, even as the JEWEL volume decreased. The average number of sales this week was 684, with a total weekly volume of 427k JEWEL — down 22% from last week. The average sale price this week was 90 JEWEL vs. 99.8 last week, clearly demonstrating falling Hero prices.
Note: As with the other data, the daily numbers represent the 24 hours prior to 8am ET on the listed day.
Hero Stat Breakdowns
As a reminder, this section now contains data for living Heroes only — i.e. those not held by the Graveyard wallet.
Hero levels continued to shift upwards this week, with Level 6 nearly catching up to Level 1!
Highest Profession Skills
- Foraging: 21.4 (#1976 / Legendary Archer, Level 11)
- Fishing: 21.2 (#581 / Mythic Pirate, Level 11)
- Gardening: 19.2 (#27305 / Common Priest, Level 7)
- Mining: 17.7 (#72894 / Common Priest, Level 7)
The Adventurer’s Guild
In this section, we track heroes as they’re held in various Harmony wallets.
Total Hero Wallets: 19,553* (+521 / 2.74%)
Note: As of this morning, 352 Heroes were held in custodial wallets (including the PJ Contract), and are not included in this data. The Graveyard wallet is excluded from this data.
Hero Wallet Growth
Although today’s Hero wallet growth numbers continue to be at record lows, compared to the previous 3-week interval, there’s actually a fairly significant shift upward, increasing by only 432 (+2.21%).
Total Hero Wallets (Weekly Change / % Change)
• Mar. 28: 19,985 (+432 / 2.21%)
• Mar. 21: 19,553 (+521 / 2.74%) (3-week interval)
• Feb. 28: 19,032 (+434 / 2.33%)
• Feb. 21: 18,598 (+572 / 3.17%)
In terms of overall DFK profile stats — recall that these are the number of profiles created in the game, not necessarily all wallets that have interacted with it — we saw a wallet growth of about 2% this week, double the 1% numbers of the previous two weeks.
Hero Wallet Stats
Now that the dust from the Perilous Journey has settled, Hero numbers are stabilizing once again. This week, the average number of heroes held per wallet increased very slightly by 0.4% to 7.01 heroes, while the median wallet held steady at 3.
The number of Heroes held by the Top 50 wallets increased significantly this week — by 4.4%, perhaps due to scooping up cheap deals in the Tavern, or a few PJ holdout wallets finally claiming.
On the lower end of the spectrum, wallets holding only one hero increased by a significant 2.5%, with the overall share of one-hero wallets likely increasing sightly by 0.3%.

Please note the logarithmic y-axis scales of the charts below, and that this first chart groups wallets holding 100–124, 125–149, 150–199, 200+ heroes. If you have better ideas for how to display this data, please let me know!
Gen0 Wallet Stats
We’re also checking in on Gen0 wallets, in order to keep an eye on potential consolidation.
Total Gen0 Wallets: 851 (-2)
Gen0s this week seemed to indicate some increasing consolidation as the number of single Gen0 holders declined again (by 2) and Top 50 holders picked up another 4. The median also held steady this week at 2.
Among wallet movement of Gen0s, just a few stand out this week: Boek (-5) — though only one of these was sold in the Tavern, Jaant (+2), Kenji (+2), Xeno (+2) — bullish!, and Space Cowboy (-2).
Hero Whale Watch
And finally, let’s check in on our Hero whales. A few big changes in Hero numbers here, especially at the top by Chi. Notably, infamous tavern sniper bot Micki Minach made its way into the Top 10 this week, perhaps buying up too many Heroes when prices began to drop.
