This article is one of many other volumes for the Summer ’23 Release Notes — The Funny-ish Summary. If you want to jump to a specific Topic please use the links at the bottom of this page.

Why be like everyone else when you can customise yourself? Remember, life is not “one size fits all”. It’s more like “One size fits you and maybe a few alterations” 😉

Customisation

Einstein Builders

  • Supercharge your predictions with the ultimate data fusion! 💥🔮 Joining forces with related objects using lookup fields is like mixing peanut butter and jelly — except this combo delivers mind-blowing insights🧙‍♂️📊🔥instead of a sandwich🥪. I mean Einstein himself is envious. BETA

Salesforce Connect

  • Accessing and integrating data from external GraphQL, using the new Salesforce Connect adapter for GraphQL is now GA

Permissions

  • Did you know that you can manage field-level security by assigning it through permission sets rather than profiles when creating a new field? Alternatively, you can easily modify the field-level security for an existing field across all permission sets using the Object Manager. This feature is now GA 😎
  • Delegated administrators can now manage the assignment of permission set groups for users in their delegated group
  • Unleash your inner tech magician and let the user assignment wizardry begin🪄🧙🏻‍♀️🤓. Because now you can automate user assignments to licenses, permission sets, and access mechanisms based on your criteria effortlessly, by creating user access policies for automatic access granting or removal during user creation or updates. BETA

Lightning App Builder

  • It’s Dynamic Era’s Tour time 🪩 After the Dynamic actions being GA for all standard objects only for desktop in the previous release. Dynamic forms is now available on mobile. BETA
  • Speaking of Dynamic forms, you can now control field alignment across columns by using the ‘Align fields horizontally’ property
  • Lightning App pages now support the Accordion and Tabs components

Globalisation

  • I’ll keep it short: Custom Address Field supports community profiles, Export Backup Data from Salesforce, Lightning App Builder, and SFDX CLI.
  • Hello, مرحبًا, Bonjour, Hola, こんにちは 🙋🏻‍♀️. Language extension packages can now contain the translations for translation components in base packages. BETA

External Services

  • You can now declaratively edit external services that were originally created by HTTP Callout. Do you know why?🤓, it is because Flow Builder HTTP Callout is now GA
  • Previously, MuleSoft registrations were reviewed within External Services. However, now you’re rerouted to the new MuleSoft Services page in Setup

Fields

  • It’s a lightning storm ⛈️ ⚡️. Remember when you had to switch to Salesforce Classic to modify Salutation picklist values? It’s now time to forget about that, because you can do it via the Object Manager 😻
  • Level up your customer game with a fabulous twist! Say hello to Mx. as the default picklist value. But wait, there’s more! You can customize the Salutation field to include other nonbinary or honorific titles specific to your company

General Setup

  • Build it, customise it, and clone it. I am talking about Lightning apps. And yes you can now clone them. How cool is that?
  • Users can now perform mass updates for records in the related list instead of only single record updates…How cute😻
  • Change announcement. I repeat, change announcement. The CASESAFEID function now converts only valid Salesforce 15-character IDs to case insensitive 18-character IDs
