Andijan typically occupies the least space in other travel reports compared to the other 2 regions in Fergana Valley, Namangan and Fergana, but it turned out to be my favorite region due to its well-designed streets, buildings, parks, squares, and I felt like I was walking in Tashkent while I was strolling along the streets in Andijan.

Transportation

• Arrival — Train (Namangan — Andijan) | UZS79,770

- I arrived in Andijan at 00:03 amidst heavy rain, and it proved to be a wise decision to have booked an accommodation near the train station, which took me 5 minutes to walk to and was a good starting point to explore Andijan the next morning

• Departure — Train (Andijan — Tashkent North) | UZS125,240

My Itinerary

• Checked out from accomodation, walked along улица Бобур Шох, turned left on Mashrab Street to Navruz Mall

- улица Бобур Шох is a busy and jammed street offering a hustle-and-bustle feeling, especially around the area of Yangi Bozor Dekhkon Bozori

- Navruz Mall is a newly-built shopping mall

• Turned right after leaving Navruz Mall, walked along Mashrab Street, Alloma koʻchasi and Naqshbandiy koʻchasi, turned left on Dukchi Eshon Street

- Walking along Dukchi Eshon Street, which is a main road and turns into Alisher Navoi Avenue if one keeps walking northwards, is a pleasant experience and one can really have an illusion of walking in Tashkent based on how the buildings on 2 sides of the street and the street itself look like

• Spent a lot of time around the roundabout connecting Alisher Navoi Avenue (south), Ulitsa Bukharskaya / Cho’lpon shoh koʻchasi (north), Uzbekistanskiy Prospekt (west) / Bobosadin koʻchasi (east)

- After walking past Andijon viloyati hokimiyati, one can find oneself in the most adorable area of Andijan — Andijon Viloyati Musiqali Drama Teatri and Markaziy Skver on the southwest of the roundabout, Memorial Place and “O’zbegim” Trade Center on the northwest, Alisher Navoiy nomli markaziy madaniyat va istirohat bog’i and Alisher Navoiy nomli viloyat amfiteatri on the northeast

• Crossed the overpass near Eski Shakhar Dekhkon Bozori, visited Registon Maydoni and Jami medresse and Devonaboy Mosque

• Walked along Oltinkul Street, turned left on Prospekt Babura, visited Korzinka, took a taxi towards the train station

My Thought

• For such a pleasant and massive city, it was a pity that I only managed to explore its city center area and didn’t get to see other parts of the city (e.g. Whole Sales Shopping Center “ Jahon Bozori”) — I would recommend spending 2 to 3 days in Andijan
