Primer on The Cube Queen

Make your peace with all you have known. Today, we’ll be loosely discussing all known information regarding The Cube Queen, before The Pyramid fulfills its purpose.

Trojan Horse

…of the inter-dimensional kind.

During Chapter 2’s Season 7, a mysterious alien species attacked the Island. Headed straight to the last known trail of the Zero Point’s energy — the Spire, they attempt to retrieve it using their Mothership’s laser.

Thankfully, the Zero Point had been safely resealed as part of the Foundation’s plan with the Spire, all along.

However, after the abduction of Loopers and the alien’s expanded knowledge of the Island’s nature, the Imagined Order was forced to take action. With the mothership bombed by them, whatever dark secrets were powering its technology were finally revealed.

The Cube has returned. Or rather, hundreds.

Danger Cubed

…still in their sleep.

Thankfully, most cubes on the Island were inactive, having to be reawakened personally by a Golden one: their leader.

The Cube Queen is revealed. Bringing with her stronger beings from her home — the Sideways dimension — and her Reality Render staff, imbued with the power to end any realm.

Slowly, each cube begins to roll once more. Dice determining our future. And after converging within the map’s central area, they form a pyramid with unknown purpose.

This is Fortnite’s first ever antagonist. Posing as the prime threat to all Loopers during Chapter 1's Season 6. She’s back.

And with her, Kevin. After having its atoms re-arranged through the singularity responsible for the new Island, the Cube present during Chapter 1's Season X had also regained its form.

Although what we hadn’t realized… is how badly its matriarch had taken her first defeat.

Darkness Rose

…with nefarious purpose.

The Queen’s mission is to bring her home dimension — the Sideways — into every Reality. She sees this as benevolence, for an unknown reason.

And as such, our reality hadn’t escaped her initial sights. Kevin, as the community called it, was sent to end our reality and bring forth darkness. (Chapter 1, Season 6)

However, our guardian butterfly couldn’t let that happen. As the Cube attempted to absorb it, the Zero Point’s energy overloaded the poor geometrical, sentient entity — destroying all fragments of its reign over the Island.

She was furious.

Only Nothing

…will remain.

Aware of the IO and the Seven’s conflict. Aware of the Zero Point’s nature as the very center of all existence, a gateway to facilitate her mission a thousandfold.

This is the biggest threat the Island has ever faced. That the entire Omniverse (all Realities/Multiverses) has ever faced.

While Doctor Slone analyses remaining technology from the mothership, or as their faction is called: The Last Reality, our only hope seems to be from familiar faces.

Or some new ones, as well! During Chapter 2’s Season 8, J.B. Chimpanski has been assisting the Island by gathering old blueprints, and using our Bars to fund war equipment. Even going as far as bringing back the B.R.U.T.E.S.!

Conclusion

With the Pyramid’s true purpose yet to be unveiled, we’re left wondering how this season might end. Will we see another Island? Will this Reality truly end, as all others who’ve faced the Queen’s wrath?
