Hey! Welcome. Today, we’ll be recapitulating the events of the Volcano and the Vault in Chapter 1, Season 8.

After colossal effort, the Ice King’s plan has been thawed. The Prisoner is free, and new threats are soon to come.

Breathe in the Ashes

All that’s occurred after Chapter 1, Season 6 has been threats hailing from unknown Realities. This time, pirates have stumbled upon the secrets of existence.

Perhaps treasures from their adventures brought them to this mysterious land. The how doesn’t matter, but their nature is reason enough to watch their next actions.

Pirates on their ship

The Island is vulnerable, with looming conflict dangling over its head. The song of ice and fire is yet to be finished.

Stolen Childhood

After escaping his prison, the wielder of flames stole eggs belonging to the Ice Kingdom. Nurturing them into assassins of the greatest efficiency, he sends his brood on a mission.

Although most chains were easy to destroy after reawakening his ember, the most important one was locked by key. To achieve full power, the Prisoner had to steal the only thing capable of freeing his touch from cold metal.

The castle-shaped, golden secret was entrusted by the Ice King to Master Key, a swift guardian with eyes as deep as the horizon. Harnessing imagery of tigers, known to be apex predators, he was more than fit for the task.

Unfortunately, the sheer amount of agents raised by the Prisoner was overwhelming. The key was lost. And now, the flame can reach its totality.

Treasure Greater than Gold

During this unfortunate series of events, a new facet arises. What’s assumed to be an early version of the Imagined Order, those controlling the Island, excavate multiple spots around the landscape.

They’re in search of something. But by happy coincidence or intent, they also happen to relieve the surface’s pressure caused by the volcano, creating Geysers wherever they dig.

One of these sites is sabotaged by Ruin, the Prisoner’s right-hand general. Escorting flame to the wind, impossible to extinguish.

Ruin reveals himself, glowing with magma

And in one lucky break, all of existence may now be enslaved.

Metal of an unknown kind is found in their latest site of excavation. Geometry covering it in patterns. Shapes that compose the very foundation of our surroundings, fitting for what they encase.

What lies beneath is only the center of life. The cradle of all creation.

The Zero Point.

Seeds of Destruction

The Prisoner is now capable of unleashing his reign over the Island, to finally overwhelm his opposite and end this battle. Both quickly adaptive to their new battlegrounds, yet one swifter than the other.

Meanwhile, facilities surround what is only known as the Vault, with images displaying previously available weaponry to Loopers. Déjà vu.

In similar fashion to the nurturer of flames, the Vault also requires keys for its unlocking. Except, these were planned to be opened. Each requiring specific teamwork by the inhabitants of the Island.

And after all has fallen into place, the Unvaulting commences.

The Volcano erupts, hitting multiple suburban and metropolitan areas of the Island, and a very specific target: The Ice Kingdom’s Iceberg.

The Vault opens to reveal the Zero Point in an idle state, contained within impossible space. All that lies within are weapons for the Loopers to choose, and a desk with a helmet. One worn by our future savior.

And with Reality Zero in flames, that savior is called. A bright future is ahead in Chapter 1, Season 9.
