Hey! I am Ishika

You can call me Ishh. Wait, do we still give a formal intro about ourselves first? oh alright. I’ll make sure it gets interesting as you read ;)

I’m 22, born and raised in India. I will graduate this summer(May’24, YAY!) with a computer science major specializing in AI & ML. My interest lies in the Data Science domain and am placed as a data analyst in a multinational finance organization(UK). Still, I wish to pursue an MS before entering the corporate world (I’ll update what I choose).

For all the astrological fanatics, I am a Virgo and you would be familiar with my birthday if you know when is International Day of Peace!

What interests me?

When I’m not coding away at my desk, you’ll often find me lacing up my shoes hitting a gym, or playing badminton. Those exhilarating hours make me feel alive.

I have a profound love for nature and a thirst for adventure that knows no bounds. Exploring hidden waterfalls, summiting towering peaks, and witnessing breathtaking sunsets(with a camera in hand) are a few of the countless moments that fuel my wanderlust. Being with nature helps me stay true to myself, appreciate beauty, and practice gratitude(I think this love has something to do with the fact that I am an Earth sign, idk).

I paint when I feel good, down, or excited with music on — Acrylic mostly. It calms me down from my high dopamine. Also, photography. If you walk with me and I spot a pretty sky, a flower, or anything that catches my attention, we will stop to click the picture.

I love singing; I won’t say I am a vocalist, but you’ll find me singing anywhere and everywhere. My friends often say I sing in ‘italics’. Not sure what they mean, but I would like to believe it’s a compliment(it is). I am down for a karaoke night anytime. Also, I love chocolates, I can survive an entire day on them. I love baking.

I’ll drop in some shows I loved — Suits, B99, TVD, and K-dramas (I won’t stop if I start talking about them). My favorite movie genre is romance(cliche but it is what it is :) I enjoy the Regency era too. I have always admired those who read books but somehow I can’t finish past two hundred pages(I am working on it :’’). I complete self-help/ motivational books faster idkw.

But yes drop in your favorite suggestions in all the categories I discussed! I’ll check them out and reach out if I love them too :)

And oh, did I talk about MUSIC? I love listening to music. All day, anytime, while doing everything. Working out, shopping, bathing, (while I’m writing this), and sometimes while I study — I would put on a playlist and by the time I finish I have already traversed it whole. Not everyone believes me, but it’s true. I enjoy alternative/indie, pop, and K-pop but I listen to everything.

What now on Medium?

I would love to share my day-to-day experiences; kinda like my own little journal — real and raw. I am experienced in technical writing so if I feel I could do justice to explain a topic to y’all — I would definitely.

I will write about everything that interests me, catches my attention, and cultivates a sense of wonder and curiosity in you as you read.
