Journey to China via Myanmar during COVID pandemic, 2022.
A very thrilling and tiring experience of travel and quarantine experience in Guangzhou International Health Hub
I’ve stayed in China for more than 4 years and mostly during pandemic. It was mixed feeling for me, bit nervous, anxiety, worried.
I was traveling with my friend’s wife, she accompanied me to meet her family in China. Till now, there is no direct flight between New Delhi & Shanghai opened. In 2022, i was travelling from India to China via Myanmar route. And Myanmar was under army rule since 1st of Feb 2021, after the coupe.
Before boarding flight for China via Myanmar, we have to take visa for Myanmar. We took that online, you can take Myanmar visa online for Indian citizen at around $120–150 depending on number of day of stay. As per the guidance from Chinese embassy if we’re travelling via Myanmar, we need to stay in the country for 10–15 days and do the COVID test twice before boarding the flight to Guangzhou/China.
We did 2 tests in India and received the Green Code from Chinese embassy to board the flight to China. We arrived at Yangon International Airport. At airport we did the covid test again and we waited till the result came. We were ok to proceed.
