Since we launched Beam in 2019, we’ve been on a mission to reshape the Web3 ecosystem, pushing private-by-default transactions as the norm, in a status quo of public transaction blockchains.

We’ve championed the human right to financial privacy, building a censorship-resistant and community-governed private DeFi ecosystem, accessible to everyone as a public good.

Across five years, from initially starting as a mimblewimble-based privacy blockchain for peer-to-peer transactions, to June 2021’s ground-breaking hard fork enabling smart contracts, kickstarting the BeamX PriFi ecosystem; Beam is now set to become the privacy conduit of Web3 featuring a complete PriFi experience including:

Beam Wallet 7.5

The Beam Team firmly believes in “Not your Keys, Not your Coins” and we’ve distilled this philosophy into Beam Wallet. The Beam Wallet is available across all modern devices, web browsers, smartphones, and hardware wallets; ensuring Beam Wallet travels with you and is always within reach.

The Beam Wallet 7.5 update refines the user experience with many new features like:

Ability to switch between Mainnet and DAppnet
Create and manage multiple wallets in a single Beam Wallet
The embedded DApp store
Significantly faster log-in time

A Vision for the Future

The Beam roadmap is a testament to our commitment to constant innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, with novel Web3 technologies emerging every day.

We believe interoperability to remain a key narrative, that will shape Web3 in the coming years. Thus, we position Beam as a Layer-1, and also as a seamless private-by-default on-ramp for all EVM-compatible chains.

In 2024, we’re setting our sights on improving Beam x EVM functionality, building bridges to Polygon, and research integrating GHOSTDAG and the KASPA consensus mechanisms for rapid-fast transaction settlements.

Also, expect to see a revamped version of the Beam Explorer.

Beam is a decentralized community-governed protocol, all proposed initiatives will first be scrutinized and voted on by the Beamer community, and guided by the feedback we receive on Beam Forum discussions.

$BEAM Mining Rewards Halving

Starting ~8th January 2024 (01:00 UTC), $BEAM emissions will be halved from 26,280,000 $BEAM emitted per year to 13,140,000 $BEAM.

The $BEAM emissions allocation for the Beam Treasury will reduce to 0, with all $BEAM emissions going towards miners’ rewards.
