This corporation is creating the new Private Concorde plane
Since the Concorde, that has been developed by Sud Aviation and started its commercial career in 1976 and ended it in 2003, the sky did not saw again a supersonic commercial aircraft.
Aerion is a Nevada based corporation that want to create a new supersonic aircraft that will be able to carry up to twelve passengers. Sound reduction materials and design will be utilized with the goal of providing passengers with sound levels equivalent to today’s long-range subsonic business jets.
The Mach 1.5 Aerion AS2 business jet will fly more than 4,750 nautical miles (8,800 km) at a combination of subsonic and supersonic speeds. The aircraft saves three hours across the Atlantic versus today’s subsonic jets, and more than six hours on long transpacific routes. The AS2will make its first flight in 2021 and enter service with customers in 2023. It Is under development in collaboration with Airbus Group.
Aerion has demonstrated advanced wing technology in conjunction with NASA and other leading aeronautical institutions. This research includes breakthrough work in the area of supersonic natural laminar flow, the key enabling technology behind the AS2 business jet.
The jet will fly over sea at the speed of 1.5 mach.
GE Aviation has been selected as a supplier for engines
“We have thoroughly evaluated over two dozen civil and military engines from all leading engine producers over the past two years and believe that working with GE Aviation will help us meet the challenging specifications needed to meet our performance objectives, as well as the high expectations of our customers,” said Aerion CEO Doug Nichols.

This engine will provide enough power to propels the plane at a maximum operating speed of Mach 1.5 over water and land masses where supersonic speed is permitted, and up to Mach 0.99 where required by regulation to fly subsonically over land, in silence.

The Aerion Jet is a revolution. The speed of plane did not increase since decades. The time flight even increased on transatlantic flight because of wind changes. It could be a rule breaker.
