This report aims to compare temperature changes in Dublin and London over the period of 1980 to 2018.

Dublin

  • The overall temperature has risen steadily by 2℃ since 1980 mainly due to industrialization.
  • The temperature reached an all-time high at 12℃ in 2018.

London

  • The temperature remained at similar levels between 1980s and 1990s.
  • The average temperature fluctuated between 11℃ and 12℃ between 1990 and 2000.

In general, the average temperature in Dublin and London have both increased in the last 38 years. However, the temperature in London has gone up faster than it has in Dublin because of a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions. As Irish and British governments have start to cooperate, the average temperature is predicted to remain the same.
