Like the Feature Stories, Flash Fiction must be complete stories with a beginning, a middle, and a satisfying end, but must conform to a strict word-count or form.

We’re open to any interesting rules around flash fiction, but some of the forms we recognise from ERWA StoryTime include:

Flasher: Erotic-themed fiction at no more than 200 words.

Triptych: A collection of three linked Flashers.

Quickie: Erotic fiction up to 1200 words. At this length, we’re looking for a full realised sex scene.

Poetry: Free verse, Haiku, Sonnet, Limerick. We don’t care, just keep it erotic themed.

Apart from Quickies, you won’t be able to describe a detailed sex scene, but still, Cream Shaboogie Cock flash fiction should be sexy.

Flash Fiction FAQs

Q. Can I list my flash fiction as premium Medium content and get paid?

Yes.

Q: My book has a sexy bit that’s only 200 words. Can I post that part as Flash Fiction so that readers buy my book to get the rest?

No. That is a Sexy Snippet. Accepted authors can post both promotional Hot Chapters and Sexy Snippets, but Flash Fiction must be a complete story from beginning to end.

Q: Can I include buy-links to my other books?

Flash Fiction posts may include one buy-link to the anthology that the story comes from, or to your Cream Shaboogie Cock Author Page.

Q: Can I include images in my Flash Fiction?

Yes, please do. All posts should include sexy, non-pornographic images that break up the text. How much imagery? Look at a magazine. Authors must own rights to all images used.

Q: How often can I publish?

Accepted authors may submit one Flash Fiction entry per week. Authors without a Feature Story may post Flash Fiction by invitation only.

Formatting

To be eligible for publication in Cream Shaboogie Cock, Flash Fiction must be formatted to our guidelines. When all stories are formatted alike, we look more like a professional outfit and less like the band of itinerant minstrels wandering the countryside selling prose for scraps of bread that we are.

Your story content must include the following (and no more) in the described order.

Title — the name of your story, plus a sub-title and a tag-line. Please include all three.

Image — like a book cover. Please use only margin-width images and place them beow the tag-line. Save the full-width banners above the title for Feature Stories.

Your Story — Please format your story according to the Cream Shaboogie Cock Style Guide. Do not include any additional headings, take particular note of Story Body formatting, and don’t forget to include your by-line.

Promo — one short promo for a related book, i.e. An anthology the story appears within. Promos must use the following style guide.

Flash Fiction that does not follow formatting guidelines will be rejected.

Submission

When your Flash Fiction is ready to go, update your metadata and submit to Cream Shaboogie Cock as follows:

  • Only Feature Stories are eligible for Medium Partner Program earnings. Set the Distribution Setting to Disabled (leave the box unchecked).
  • Ensure one of the story Tags is set to Flash Fiction, otherwise it will not appear in Cream Shaboogie Cock’s Flash Fiction section.
