A Sexy Snippet is the blurb on your back cover, the tease on your flyleaf. They’re a promotion for your published work outside of Medium. They contain a short excerpt from your book (200–400 words), a promotional blurb, and a buy-link.

Q. Can I list my Sexy Snippet as premium Medium content and get paid?
No. Sexy Snippets are ads. Do you want to pay for ads? Neither do readers. Sexy Snippets are free. Only Feature Stories may be listed as premium content.
Q: My book only has one sex scene. Can I just post the first part of it so that readers buy my book to get the rest?
Sure. Go nuts. Make it as enticing as you want. Just pick 250 words that will make your reader want more.
Q: Can I include buy-links to my other books?
Other books? No. Sexy Snippets may include one buy-link to the book that the snippet comes from.
Q: Can I include images in my Sexy Snippet?
Yes, please do. All posts should include sexy, non-pornographic images that break up the text. How much imagery? Look at a magazine. Authors must own rights to all images used.
Q: How often can I publish?
Accepted authors may submit one Sexy Snippet and one Hot Chapter per month, capped at twelve for each accepted Feature Story. eg. Authors with two Feature Stories may post up to 24 Sexy Snippets over a two-year period.
Formatting
To be eligible for publication in Cream Shaboogie Cock, a Sexy Snippet must be formatted to our guidelines. When all posts are formatted alike, we look more like a professional outfit and less like the band of itinerant minstrels wandering the countryside selling prose for scraps of bread that we are.
Your snippet content must include the following (and no more) in the described order.
Title — the name of your book, plus a sub-title and a tag-line. Please include all three, and suffix the sub-title with (a sexy snippet).
Cover image — your book cover, displayed using Medium’s offset-left image format. Click on the image and select the left-most icon.
Your Snippet — Please format your story according to the Cream Shaboogie Cock Style Guide. Do not include any additional headings, take particular note of Story Body formatting, and don’t forget to include your by-line
Promo — one short promo for the book the Hot Chapter is taken from. Promos must use the following style guide.
For Sexy Snippet promos. optionally include the Cover blurb (a short blurb taken from the book’s back cover, flyleaf, or ebook store page) before the call to action. Format it using Medium’s small-quote format.
Sexy Snippets that do not follow formatting guidelines will be rejected.
Submission
When your Sexy Snippet is ready to go, update your metadata and submit to Cream Shaboogie Cock as follows:
- Only Feature Stories are eligible for Medium Partner Program earnings. Set the Distribution Setting to Disabled (leave the box unchecked).
- Ensure one of the story Tags is set to Books, otherwise it will not appear in Cream Shaboogie Cock’s Sexy Snippet section.
