O3 Desktop: Add existing wallet

If you would like try out the O3 Desktop wallet, and are currently using another wallet, this guide will walk you though the process of importing your account!
This article is a part of our set of guides for using the O3 Desktop wallet. We encourage your to check it out when you get a chance.
App specific migration guides
If you are using one of the following wallets, please use these guides to assist in your migration. Else, this guide will provide you a general overview of adding your wallet to the app.
Install the app
If you haven’t already downloaded the app, you can get it from any of the following:
Add wallet from login screen
- Open the O3 app
- If you are already on the dashboard or setting screen please scroll down to the next section in this article.
- Select “Add wallet”
- Fill out a name for your wallet
- Enter your address, encrypted key, or private key
- Upon clicking “SCAN” a preview of your webcam will appear
- Hold up the QR code containing your credentials to the webcam to be scanned by the app
- Once populating your credentials, click “Create”
- If an address was entered, this will be considered a watch account, and you will be taken straight to the dashboard. If you want to send any assets, you will be asked for your credentials at a later point.
- If encrypted key was entered, provide your passphrase to authenticate this account, click “Submit”, and you will be taken to the dashboard.
- If a private key was entered, input a passphrase to encrypt your credentials to be securely stored by the desktop app, and click “Submit”
- You will then be taken to the dashboard screen for your wallet.
- Congrats! Your account has successfully added to the O3 app!
Add wallet from dashboard or settings screens
- If on the dashboard screen, navigate to the settings screen by clicking on the gear icon in the menu bar on the left-hand side
- On the settings screen click “Add wallet”
- Fill out a name for your wallet
- Enter your address, encrypted key, or private key
- Once populating your credentials, click “Create”
- If an address was entered, this will be considered a watch account, and you will be taken straight to the dashboard. If you want to send any assets, you will be asked for your credentials at a later point.
- If encrypted key was entered, provide your passphrase to authenticate this account, click “Submit”, and you will be taken to the dashboard.
