2022/7/9 Monthly Assembly (July)
The monthly meeting of July was hosted by the International Affairs Team of TWYCC. They introduced some relevant information about YOUNGO networking and shared four proposals for cooperation with Asian youth organizations. The most popular theme that everyone had high expectations of was the USR workshop. At the end of the assembly was a business card design session. Participants designed delicate business cards for the members of the delegation, who will participate in the upcoming COP27 in Egypt.
2022/8/5 Midsummer Music Festival and Green Life Waste-free Market
On 5th August, a Friday night, TWYCC joined the Midsummer Music Festival and Green Life Waste-free Market in Neihu, Taipei. The event took place in Dahu Park. We set up a booth in the market and shared the Bingo game and picture books to teach children about climate change.
2022/8/15 TWYCC Awarded “Climate Hero” by UNFCCC Youth Constituency
TWYCC has been recognized as a “Climate Hero” at the 16th Conference of Youth (COY16). The certificate was issued by YOUNGO, the Official Youth Constituency of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). TWYCC is one of the two institutions in the world that have been awarded Climate Hero. TWYCC is also the first youth organization in Taiwan to receive this recognition.
2022/8/20 Monthly Assembly (August)
During the monthly assembly in August, the Climate Youth Network Team of TWYCC used “the Gather town” virtual meeting room to host the event. Participants had a quiz competition using Kahoot and also played environmental board games online.
2022/9/14 EU Youth Climate Forum: Building a Greener Future
TWYCC’s International Affairs Team was invited to speak at the “EU-Taiwan Youth Climate Forum: Building a Greener Future” hosted by the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan on September 14, 2022.
2022/9/17 Monthly Assembly (September)
Members from the Climate Fiction(cli-fi) Project and the Medium team of TWYCC hosted the climate fiction workshop and the media literacy workshop together at the September assembly. In the climate fiction workshop, participants had to brainstorm what will life be like in 2050, after the host gave some background settings. On the other hand, in the media literacy workshop, after searching for different points of view regarding the issue of the “carbon fee” in person, participants gathered together to share the results and also what difficulties they faced during the process.
2022/9/24 TWYCC Shared Experiences at Asia Solidarity Lab Workshop on Digital Campaigns
On September 24, 2022, TWYCC members were invited to lead and speak at an online workshop “Digital Campaigns: Online Climate Change Education” hosted by Asia Solidarity Lab. In the workshop, representatives of 350.org Asia, CarbonCare InnoLab’s advocacy team “Climate Sense”, Green Environment Youth Korea (GEYK), and TWYCC spoke about how digital media are used for climate change campaigns and shared their creative experiences promoting climate change education online.
