How to influence complete strangers
Hello students, post-grads, and everyone in between.
Since our last newsletter, we’ve had a bunch of incredible stories sent in to the Post-Grad Survival Guide.
My favorite, though, and one of my favorite articles of the year is this one from Cole Fitter: A One-Man Protest In The Streets Of Madrid.
For me, it’s a masterclass in empathy and influencing other people despite disagreeing with them. Cole decided to go into the streets of Madrid and protest climate change. He details a few conversations he had with strangers over the course of that day — some of them were weirder than others — and I think there’s a lot to learn from what he found.
Here’s a few more I liked:
How To Create Your Dream Life In 2 Years by Chris Wojcik — Chris details his journey from not knowing anything about writing online to making a living doing ONLY that and jiu-jitsu. It’s a great piece worth reading.
6 Things I Learned From Practicing Magical Thinking For 6 Years by Heidi Thompson — Heidi sets her target on an entire industry built on the lie that if you desire something hard enough, it will magically happen for you eventually.
I Crashed On My Friend’s Couch For A Month — Here’s What I Learned by Eric Chung — Fellow couch surfers, lend this article your ear. :)
How Being An Entrepreneur Can Cause Lifelong Inner Turmoil by Dr Ruth Miller-Anderson — What happens when you have all the traits of an entrepreneur in a world that doesn’t quite understand that?
How You Can Use Your Emotions To Make More Money by Claire Lowe — Can money buy happiness? HECK YES says Claire in her latest piece. It’s well worth the read.
Cheers everyone! Thanks for continuing to read the Post-Grad Survival Guide in 2023! :)
