7+ Practical Ways to Receive Divine Blessings When ‘Faith’ Fails
Deep within us, there’s a universal longing to connect with a higher power and invite its blessings into our lives. However, empty promises in churches and other places of worship leave many disillusioned and distant from God, leaving us with the responsibility to teach God’s people how to receive divine blessings when ‘faith’ fails.
This is the issue at hand. Many men of God want to attract large crowds. They want quick money. So, they give out chocolates instead of food to their followers. Once things go out of hand and none receives divine blessings, they recommend death to conceal the evidence.

In Kenya, the Shakahola massacre is under investigation. So, I wouldn’t want to get to it at this point. It’s enough to point out that over 426 people died, and more than 612 were missing at the time of writing.
There are more examples.
Have you heard about the Heaven’s Gate Cult of 1997? Their leaders, Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles, believed a spaceship trailed the comet Hale-Bopp. They convinced their followers to commit suicide to board the spaceship and receive God’s special rewards. Tragically, 39 members followed their leaders in a mass suicide, believing it would lead to a heavenly afterlife.
The Christian Science Church is another terrifying example. They teach prayer-based healing, but there have been cases where individuals, including children, died from treatable medical conditions, thereby missing their blessings.
Yes, there’s still hope. Yes, God’s promises are still Yes and Amen. These people erred because they couldn’t live their life to the fullest. I will they read this article and this:https://medium.com/@bernardomondi2020/theres-more-to-life-than-being-happy-discover-3-existence-pillars-76773d313162
In this article, we will draw insights from sacred scriptures to help you discover how to turn the Godly yearning for divine blessings into a reality. This mainly applies if you’re a Christian who believes in hope against hope that you should become the father of many nations.
1. Cultivate a Spirit of Gratitude
Bible verse: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Gratitude forms the foundation of a blessed life. Recognizing the gifts and opportunities already present in your life creates an atmosphere of positivity and abundance. By acknowledging your current blessings, you open the door to receiving more divine blessings. Gratitude is not only an attitude but also a powerful spiritual practice that invites divine favor.
Why? If you are a prayer warrior, you can appreciate that prayerlessness is associated with ingratitude. Wicked forces know it is easier to imprison you by stealing the spirit of gratitude. So, cultivate gratitude and win.

2. Foster a Humble Heart
Verse: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” — James 4:10
Humility is vital to receiving blessings from God. A humble heart acknowledges that every good thing comes from a higher source. Instead of relying solely on personal efforts, recognize that blessings often come when we relinquish control and acknowledge our dependence on a higher power. A humble heart creates a space for divine grace to flow freely.
Again, prayer is an excellent tool for cultivating humility. As you interact with God, He teaches your spirit to recognize him for who He is.

3. Embrace Faith and Trust
Verse: “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” — Hebrews 11:6
Faith and trust help babies.
Faith is the bridge between the human and the divine. Believing in the goodness of God and trusting in His plans for your life allows you to open yourself to His blessings.
Just as a seed needs to be planted in the ground before it can grow, your faith is the seed that paves the way for blessings to manifest. Trust that God’s timing is perfect and that His blessings come in the best form for your spiritual growth.
If you struggle to develop faith and trust in God, start by being obedient. Start with small things. For example, put into practice whatever God has taught you. Of course, the most straightforward step is reading the Bible regularly and meditating on the word. As you do this, faith will develop gradually.
Please note that you can read any part of the Bible and obey it. The key here is obedience.
Read on for more on how to embrace faith and trust.
4. Align Your Intentions with God’s Will
Verse: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4
Asking for blessings is natural, but aligning your desires with God’s will enhances the likelihood of receiving the desired blessings. Take time to reflect on your intentions and motivations. Are they in line with the principles of compassion, love, and service? When your intentions are aligned with God’s purpose, you create an environment where blessings can flourish.
Apostle James teaches that many people don’t get divine blessings because they pray for the wrong reasons. Why do you want to be blessed? Do you want to shame others? Or to be a blessing to others and God’s Kingdom?

5. Practice Acts of Kindness and Generosity
Verse: “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” — Proverbs 19:17
Acts of kindness and generosity are channels through which divine blessings can flow into your life. When you give selflessly to others, you create a positive energy that attracts divine favor. Helping those in need, sharing your resources, and offering your time can amplify the blessings that come your way. The act of giving aligns you with the essence of God’s love.
Some people say after supporting those in need, you are done. The Bible and experience show that it is not enough. Support the work of God as well, generously.
- 1 Corinthians 9:13–14: “Don’t you know that those who serve in the temple get their food from the temple, and that those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.”
- 1 Timothy 5:17–18: “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For Scripture says, ‘Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,’ and ‘The worker deserves his wages.’”
- Hebrews 6:10: “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.”
6. Maintain a Positive Attitude
Scripture: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” — Philippians 4:8
A positive attitude and outlook on life can attract positive outcomes. When you approach challenges with resilience, you demonstrate your readiness to receive blessings.
Dwelling on negativity, on the other hand, can block the flow of blessings.
Here are practical steps you use to maintain godly positivity even in the most difficult times.
7. Engage in Spiritual Practices
Scripture: “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” — Matthew 6:6
Engaging in spiritual practices such as prayer, meditation, and contemplation nurtures your connection with the divine. These practices help quiet the mind, create inner stillness, and make space for divine communication.
Through regular spiritual practices, you create a receptive environment for blessings to manifest in your life.
While I have listed this as the last point, it’s arguably the mother of the above points. With frequent engagement in spiritual practices, you gain the inner strength to do all the above, and that’s what you need to receive the blessings.
Benefits of Seeking Spiritual Covering
Many children of God perish due to a lack of knowledge. Once they seek God and follow the above steps, they think nothing can stand in their way to success.
You can consider this an advanced way of receiving divine blessings when ‘faith’ fails.
Are there times when the above time-tested tips may fail? Yes. In exceptional cases, none of the above yields results. The good news is that there is a good reason for that.
This is where spiritual covering comes in. You need an anointed and experienced servant who loves God. This step applies whether you are a senior pastor or a new convert.
Escape the dangers of familiarity if you want this to work for you. Here’s how to avoid it, https://medium.com/@bernardomondi2020/beware-the-dangers-of-familiarity-in-the-church-58fae8aad9f1
Some new pastors equate it with idolatry. These leaders cite scriptures that say we have direct access to heaven. They need to remember that their followers also have the same direct access. So, that’s empty rhetoric. (I will discuss another empty rhetoric relating to our salvation by grace in detail).
The truth is that we are not equal. There are people of God with higher anointing than me. And some need a word from me to live.
Also, there are times when cooperative prayers are more effective.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” — James 5:16a (ESV)
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” — James 5:14 (ESV)
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” — Matthew 18:20 (ESV)
Note: It’s essential to go for these prayers with a special offering as an act of faith. There is no better way of respecting the anointing in the person’s life. It’s also the perfect way to say your problem is too small to stop you from serving God. That’s FAITH.
Many people need to catch up on this.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21 (ESV)
Think about “The Widow of Zarephath” or “The Widow with Oil,” 1 Kings 17:8–16 (ESV):

1 Kings 17:8–16 (ESV):
8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the city gate, behold, a widow was gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” 12 She said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare for myself and my son so that we may eat it and die.” 13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first, make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’” 15 And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.
Aligning With Divine Principles
I am glad you now what to do when ‘faith’ fails but you still need to get your divine blessings.
As you can see, receiving blessings from God is not a formula but a journey that involves cultivating qualities of the heart and aligning with the divine principles.
Also, faith makes people intelligent. So, if your faith leader tries to lead you to death or sufferings, seek counsel from anointed people of God. This way, we won’t have cults causing you pain.
