Guide to Mutations and Xenografts, Fossils
Welcome to this brief guide on Mutations and Xenografts in the world of CryptantCrab. If you’ve landed here not knowing what CryptantCrab is, don’t leave just yet. Read up on who/ what we are!
Mutating & Xenografting are ways to personalize your crab, by changing its left claw, right claw, or legs.
There are several reasons why you’d want to do this:
- It makes your crab look cool.
- It gives your crab 8 EXP every time.
- It gives your crab a chance to become stronger.
- As your crab becomes stronger or more rare, its market value rises!
Mutations and Xenografts are distinct ways to customize your crab fighters, each with specific benefits detailed below.
Why Mutate Your Crabs?
Mutating the left claw, right claw, or legs of your CryptantCrab will transform it with renewed properties.
Don’t like your current Earth claw? Use 1 Cryptant to mutate it!
How to: Mutate
Simply go to “My Crabs” and choose a crab you wish to mutate. Next, select either the legs, L.Claw, or R.Claw, and hit ‘Confirm’.
You will be notified once it’s complete!
Each mutation has a 3% chance for a Legendary Part. The chance is increased by 0.1% per mutation, up to a Max Total of 20%.
Mutations are a great way of obtaining legendary rarity or more suitable parts for your crab. Xenograft is more pinpoint — allowing players to transfer exact parts from one crab to another.
Why Xenograft Your Crustacean?
Xenograft is the act of transferring a specific part of a crab to another. The process is particularly useful for completing Full Set Crabs, which gain 30% Resistance to all elements.
Another crab’s got the part you need? Use 5 Cryptant to Xenograft it over!
How to: Xenograft
Go to “My Crabs” and select the crab receiving a part. Then, select a second crab with the desired L.Claw, R.Claw, or Legs. Finalize the process by selecting desired part to Xenograft over, then hit ‘Confirm’.
You will be notified once it’s complete!
Crab #2 is transformed into a sought-after Fossil after the Xenograft process, which can be equipped for a stat boost in the Battle Arena. The fossilized crab is still a NFT you can trade on the marketplace for Ethereum!
Fossils
Now that you have your battle-ready warrior and a fossil, let’s learn what these artifacts do. Fossils are equippable artifacts that add a stat boost to one of the following stats of your crabs.
Each crab can have 2 fossils equipped in the Arena.
In some occurrences, there is a chance the crab’s soul solidifies into a Relic fossil. These relics are super rare to find, available mainly from Xenografting Pioneer Crabs (Pre-sale crabs) and Legendary Crabs. While normal fossils give a 5% attribute bonus, relic fossils provide a 10% stat bonus.
When it comes to the chance of turning into a Relic Fossil, Legendary Crabs have a 100% chance, Pioneer Crabs and Crabs with a Legendary Part have a 50% chance followed by a 5% chance for Common Crabs.
All fossils enhance the crab’s abilities, but when used wisely, your crab will shine above the rest! If the fossil’s element matches the wielder, its full potential is drawn out, doubling the stat boost given!
