Once you’ve chosen an attainable and appealing project and you’ve mapped out your network, you can start working on your campaign page. Often you’ll work on your campaign plan (step 3 of the academy) at the same time. The core of your campaign is your story, in which you explain what you will be doing, what you need the money for and why it is important. Make it personal and tangible and show the urgency. Next to a convincing pitch, it’s important that you visualize your story, with project pictures, team pictures and a short video. Start your campaign page on the platform that best suits your project.

An inspiring campaign text

Convincing people that your project needs to be realized is the essence of crowdfunding. It all starts with a good pitch: a short text that explains quickly which problem you will solve, why it’s important and what you need to realize it. You’ll use this pitch in your video, it’s also the basis of your campaign page and it’s the starting point when approaching the people around you. You can then elaborate using your campaign text, so you can tell more about who you are and why you are setting up this project. In this article we’ll give you tips on how to write a good text and a good pitch.

Use pictures to tell your story

A picture is worth a 1,000 words, especially in a crowdfunding campaign! Beautiful, telling images and clarifying sketches are crucial to your campaign. Use images to show what you want to do, make your initiative come to life for anyone who visits your campaign page. Show who is in the campaign team, what the project will look like and what rewards you offer. In this article we’ll tell and show you how to do that.

A catchy campaign video

A catchy crowdfunding video enables to you tell and show the potential supporters of your campaign why they should support your project. We don’t think a video is mandatory. But a video does increase the success rate of your crowdfunding campaign. Especially when you want to collect more than €2,000 you need to reach people who aren’t part of your personal network. Of course you can get a professional video shot when you’ve got the skills, the budget or the contacts, but it’s not necessary. We’ll give you some tips on how to make a good crowdfunding video yourself. Read on.

“Your story must be honest and true: people catch on quickly when it’s not. And most importantly: it must be something that you fully support.”
