Much has happened in 2021 for Freeos. The project. The community. The team.
This article is being written, right on the dawn of 2022 here in New Zealand, one of the first nations to greet the New Year.
Despite much uncertainty in the world, there’s a good case to focus on what we can be grateful for. With that in mind, let us reflect on a number of items—big and small—that are worthy of a moment of remembrance and gratitude as we enter another, even more eventful and fulfilling year.
- Moving to Proton—very thankful we took the plunge at such an early time. We saw the potential at the end of 2020 and made a decision early 2021.
- Received a grant from Callaghan Innovation. Extremely grateful for this opportunity.
- Attracted (and continue to attract) an amazing, dedicated, diverse team.
- Grew our community and have an amazing vibe going on, especially in our Telegram channel.
- New website, thanks to our partner Flipmind (also responsible for the AirClaim frontend)
- Deciding to work with Dfinity for a fully decentralised (frontend and backend) solution.
- Using NFTs for fun & profit.
- Ran a successful Alpha Test on the Proton Testnet
- Completed the audit of our AirClaim by Sentnl.
- Ran, and completed a month-long Open Beta with thousands of participants on the mainnet.
- Awarded special NFTs to all Beta participants, plus an extra for those that went the extra mile. Announced the AirKey for all Beta participants to use in the AirClaim as well.
- Started work on the Governance Phase of the project—the true democratic economic engine of Freeos.
- Entered the grant program from the Dfinity Foundation.
- Started a weekly Freeos Trivia Tuesdays in our Telegram group.
- Started the process of setting up a FreeDAO Foundation—to one day be a DAO governed, in part, by the Freeos participants.
- Joined up with TEC for a parameters party.
- Shortlisted and nominated for a Blockchain for Humanity Award.
- Submitted and completed all final procedures as necessary prerequisites for launching the AirClaim in early 2022!
With that, we wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope to have many more wins for all of us in 2022.
