Theorycrafting your crab and optimizing for Battles/ Challenges

Some crabs are a hybrid of specializations, so it can be complicated to decide what direction to take them in for the optimal outcome.

Which fossils do I put on them?
Which parts should I keep or swap out?

This guide provides the calculations required to solve those questions.

The Battle Formula

This formula calculates the winning time your crab will take against an opposing crab. The shorter the time, the better.

This will be the centerpiece for finding out which changes you make to your crab will truly be beneficial.

But first, you must learn how to calculate your crab’s stats, after it’s been enhanced by Legendary Parts, its Crab heart, and Fossils.

How do you calculate your crab’s stat after Fossil, Crab Heart, and Legendary Bonuses?

When in combat, your crab’s stats are made up of 4 components.

  • Base Stat = Your crab’s stat at Level 0
  • Display Stat = Your crab’s stat at its current Level
  • Legendary Bonus + Heart Multiplier (Hidden) = Combined bonuses from legendary parts and crab heart
  • Fossil Multiplier = Bonuses from your equipped fossils

Let’s look at how to calculate them in the example below.

Acting as reference, this Magma Crab.

HP, DPS and Block Multiplier formula

S = Base Stat
G = Number of Growth Point
L = Level of Crab
A = Heart Value (%)
Z = Legendary Boost Stat (%)
F = Fossil Boost Stat (%)

Final Stat = S (1.005GL) × [1+(Z+A)] × (1+F)

▼ Below is an example of how to calculate the Magma crab’s Block.

Block = 24.52 (1.005×4×11) × [1+(0.1 + ?)] × (1+0.2)

A is unknown, as no one really knows the tremendous effects of the Crab Heart. What we do know is that each Crab Heart carries the same amount of power, but with a different allocation of strengths.

The more Heart Lights there are, the more spreadout the Crab’s strengths is. The less Heart Lights, the more concentrated the Crab’s strengths are.

Resistance and Prey Multiplier formula

S = Base Stat (%)
Z = Legendary Boost Stat (%)
F = Fossil Boost Stat (%)

Final Stat = S(1+Z)(1+F)

▼ Below is an example of how to calculate the crab’s Fire Res.

Fire Res = 0.2(1+0.1)(1+0.2) = 26.4%

▼ Below is an example of how to calculate the crab’s Prey Multiplier when attacking a Primary Prey (50% extra damage).

Prey Multiplier = 0.5(1+0.1)(1+0) = 55%

Simply fill in the right values into the formula to calculate the stat of your crab. To make your life easier, we recommend using an Algebra Calculator.

I can calculate how my Fossils and Legendary Bonuses affect my crab. Now what?

In order for you to theorycraft the effects of different fossils and parts, this will be where you refer back to the Battle Formula.

T = Total time to defeat
x = DPS
m = Number of Crab parts matched with crab element *

y = Element Prey DPS Multiplier — Primary 50% | Secondary 25%
H = Opponent’s HP
B = Opponent’s Block
R = Opponent’s Resistance to your crab’s Element **

*Element matched = 1 point, Crab Set matched = 2 points
**Each Part resist 10% of DPS by the same element
**Full Set Crab Resist all element DPS by 30%

Here’s how you can use it:

  1. Set your crab as Crab 1, set an opposing crab as Crab 2.
  2. Test your crab’s winning time against Crab 2.
  3. Decide what you want to test. Maybe changing the Fossil will help?
  4. Recalculate Crab 1’s stats based on changes.
  5. Test your crab’s new winning time and see whether things have advanced positively. Remember, the shorter the time, the better.

With this, you can pinpoint which fossils or Legendary Bonuses are most optimal for your crab.

Happy Gaming!
