Push The Pace’s 2018

Here are some things we learned this year:

Mario Hezonja plays better with consistent minutes (and when he’s not hiding an injury) (Side note: Not sure why he’s failed in New York so far, unless he’s injured. It’s worth noting he’s shooting only 63% from the free throw line, despite being an 81% career shooter from the stripe. That’s a fairly controlled area, leading me to believe something might be off)

The Warriors are mimicking Star Wars

Players perform slightly better in “revenge games,” especially when they were longer-tenured members of the team they’re playing against

Nothing is right in this State Farm commercial

Around the 27th game of the season is when we can say that the standings look similar to what they’ll be at the end of the year

The Lakers had the 2nd best chance to sign LeBron (ladies and gentlemen, they got him)

Bill Simmons’ book isn’t very good, but Kristi Toliver is

Luka Doncic was the best prospect in the draft, Bagley the most overrated, and MORE (this was the draft guide of the year)

It’d be cool if Marcus Smart could shoot, but it’d mean he’d probably have been traded by now

The Cleveland Cavaliers were the thiccest team of 2018; the “small-ball” Warriors were the tallest

NBA conspiracy theories are fun, and may contain trace amounts of feces

California creates some amazing basketball players (though Ohio is a close second)

Wings are probably the next big thing in basketball (though Bigs are a close second, followed in last by Guards, who currently lead the pack)

Centers are the quickest position to develop, guards the slowest

Offenses don’t work well when two players have the same role, and more about the 23 offensive roles (colorful!)

The “hot hand” could exist for passing as well (maybe) (for LeBron)

You viewed our stories over 30,000 times, or about once every 20 minutes. Thanks. The work wouldn’t mean anything if there wasn’t anyone to read it.

Love, The PTP team
