From Push-ups to Hollow-holds to business…!
DISENGAGE
Is there a right way?
This is the eleventh in my Quad series of #AlternativeLearning. The title was mentioned by Coach Soundarya (Chow).
DISENGAGE
When you are executing a particular exercise like a pushup for example,
how do you disengage?
Most of us just plop back to the floor. Thud! And slowly work our way up for the next step.
Is there a better way?
When doing a hollow hold, or a push, it is always best done slowly, bending the knee first.
Slow. Steady. A process.
How does one disengage from any initiative that we are in? Is there a way?
Is a sudden thud the best way to disengage?
As a leader, I am at the forefront in the beginning. I will need to hand over the reins if that initiative has to scale and succeed. This is where a lot of us make a mistake. We get too attached to that initiative and feel that anyone else cannot replace us. Never. How can they?
“They lack the diligence, that entrepreneurial zeal, that only I can bring.
They will definitely mess it up.”
What if I do it slowly, bend my knee, and bend my ego a bit more?
Hand over the reins slowly. Disengage. To let it grow.
The next level will need to learn the ropes and execute to the set process. Perhaps define a newer better way to get things done.
Is there a right way to disengage?
If there is, we need to find it. And let go, gently. Slowly. Purposefully.
Disengage. To grow further.
