iOST RECAP JULY 2020

The IOST Project is a decentralized blockchain network that is secured using the Proof of Believability algorithm. By using this unique consensus algorithm, the platform can achieve super-fast speeds. The month of July has been very eventful for the IOST team and community. Here is a recap of events during July.

The Shanyiou Platform Developed Picked as Official Designated Application by BSN

The Blockchain Services Network (BSN) announced that it had picked the Shanyiou charity information publicity platform as the Official Designated Application. The Enterprise arm of IOST, Aiou Technology, developed the platform.

IOST Makes Strategic Investor in ATTN- Asia’s biggest eSports Eco-Industry Alliance

On July 1, IOST announced that it had invested in the biggest eSports eco-industry alliance in Asia, ATTN. As part of the investment, IOST will with ATTN to explore the possibilities for the blockchain in the eSports sector. Besides that, they will jointly work together to develop a blockchain-based gaming ecosystem where users can access high-quality blockchain-powered games.

IOST Joins HitHub’s Newly Launched “Global Blockchain Open-Source Node Program” as the First Strategic Partner

On July 2, 2020, IOST revealed that it had become the first strategic partner amongst blockchain projects in HitHub’s Global Blockchain Open-Source Node Program. The program is a decentralized community whose goal is to incentivize developers.

Part 2 of IOST Cofounder Terry’s Interview Binance — Block 1010 Released

On July 3, the official IOST Twitter account revealed the second part of Terry Wang’s interview on Binance-Block 101. Wang is the cofounder of IOST. In the interview, he reveals why he started IOST and his perspective on various developments around the project.

Initial Results for the IOST 2020 Q2 Contribution Rewards and Ranking Released

ON July 7, IOST released the initial results for the rankings and rewards for contributions for Q2 2020. The report revealed that 90 nodes had submitted valid reports in 5 categories.

AMA Event Announced

On July 7, the official IOST Twitter account announced an Ask Me Anything event with HitHub that would take place on July 8. The event took place on the IOST Telegram Group.

Aiou Tech, the Enterprise Arm of IOST Picked as Outstanding Blockchain Programs in COVID19 Pandemic Fight by China Mobile Communication Association

On July 8, IOST revealed that the China Mobile Communications Association (CMCA) had picked Aiou Technology, its Enterprise Arm, as Outstanding Blockchain Program for its work in the COVID19 fight. Aiou Tech was picked alongside AliPay, the online payment giant.

On July 10, IOST released a recap of the AMA event with the HitHub COO that took place on July 8, via the official IOST Telegram Group.

Transactions on the IOST Mainnet Surpass the 400 Million Mark

On July 10, 2020, IOST revealed that the number of mainnet transactions had surpassed 400 million. According to the announcement, there were 400,515,735 transactions as of July 9, 2020. It has made possible by various major achievements that have seen IOST become a leading public platform alongside EOS, Tron, and Ethereum.

Binance Reveals that IOST Had Experienced Positive Growth despite Negative Returns by Most Major Coins

A July 11, 2020 report by Binance revealed that while most major coins had experienced negative growth, IOST and other mid-range coins had been experiencing growth.

A Pair of Governance Proposals Live for Voting

On July 13, 2020, IOST announced that 2 governance proposals were live for voting on the IOST blockchain.

Terry Wang Virtual Attends Virtual Conference

On July 13, Terry Wang, the IOST cofounder, announced that he would be attending the Off The Charts virtual conference on July 14, 2020. During the conference, he would talk about scalability in the blockchain sector.

Voting for IOST’s Listing on Huobi Japan Launched

On July 16, IOST announced that voting for IOST’s listing on Huobi Japan had launched. Voting will continue up to August 16, 2020.

The PowerDeFi Decentralized Ecosystem Integrated into the IOST Ecosystem

In the past month, the decentralized finance ecosystem has doubled in value. However, most projects are integrated into the Ethereum blockchain. On July 19, 2020, it was revealed that PowerDefi, a promising and robust decentralized finance ecosystem would integrate the PER token into a PER Staking pool and an IOST staking pool. The goal is to maximize returns for users.

IOST Partners with Greencore to Improve Scalability and User Privacy Protection

On July 20, 2020, the IOST Foundation announced that it would be working with Greencore a company based in Singapore. The two will work together to improve layer-2 scaling solutions for Greencore using IOST’s advanced blockchain-based technologies.

IOST Announces Partnership with ProDeFi

On July 22, 2020, IOST announced that it would be collaborating with ProDeFi, a decentralized finance ecosystem. The partnership will see ProDeFi and IOST both benefit from expanded technical resources and support.

Part 2 of the 2020 IOST Roadmap Launched

On July 22, IOST announced that it had launched the second part of its 2020 roadmap.

Recap of the Global Partner Nodes Meeting

On July 25, 2020, IOST released a recap of the Global Partner Node meeting that took place on July 23, 2020, which was attended by Terry Wang, the IOST cofounder.

LongBit Exchange Joins IOST

On July 28, 2020, IOST announced that the LongBit Exchange had joined IOST. The partnership will be crucial to the growth of the decentralized open-source ecosystem.

IOST Listed on the Blocknomy Crypto Research and Ranking Platform

On July 29, The Foundation announced that IOST had officially being listed on the Blocknomy Crypto Research and Ranking Platform. Since being listed, the IOST token is ranked 11 out of the 73 listed crypto assets.

IOST Listed on INDODAX- The Largest Crypto Exchange in Indonesia

ON July 30, 2020, the IOST Foundation announced that IOST had been listed on INDODAX, the largest digital asset trading platform in Indonesia and SE Asia. Support for IOST deposits began at 15:00 on July 29, 2020, Beijing time while IOST open transaction support would begin on at 15:00 on July 30, 2020.

IOST Added to Collateral Assets List in the Bidao DeFi Ecosystem

On July 31, 2020, the IOST Foundation announced that IOST tokens had been listed on the Bidao Decentralized Finance ecosystem as a collateral asset. It means that the IOST token can be locked up in the CDPS to generate BAI stablecoin, one of the native tokens of the Bidao ecosystem.
