(2) Daurmanasya
(3) Angamejayatva
(4) Svasa and prasvasa
(5) Mediation
Dukha — Sorrow, Suffering
Dukha — sorrow and suffering does be,
That inflicts the human mind certainly,
A disturbed state of mind but does surely,
Makes it doubtful to practice yoga actually.
Daurmanasya — Disappointments
Daurmanasya — disappointments caused be,
Due to nonfulfillment of desires, ambition clearly,
This disturbs the state of mind unquestionably,
So develop discrmination to overcome this truly.
Angamejayatva — Restlessness
Angamehayatva — restlessness of the limbs be,
When discrimination, will power not exercised be,
To subside disturbances of state of mind surely,
Caused by sorrow, disappointment undoubtedly.
Then mind becomes agitated unquestionably,
This affects the nervous system completely,
Which then mainfested but very profoundly,
As but physical restlessness in actuality.
Svasa and prasvasa — Forcible inhalation, exhalation
Svasa, prasvasa — forcible inhalation, exhalation be,
Causes disturbances in pranayama practice clearly,
Controlled breathing or balance in breathing but be,
Exerting a calming influence in the mind certainly.
All these impediments can evidently removed be,
Throught meditation, devotion to god undoubtedly,
This will pave the way of the individual positively,
For self-realization and uniting with Lord finally.
Mediation — to Control Vrittis
Meditation helps to control unquestionably,
The mental modifications or vrittis truly,
It is only when the vrittis elimminated be,
That the true self is revealed unmistakably.
Vrittis are classified into five types:
a) Pramana
b) Viparyaya
c) Vikalpa
d) Nindra
e) Smriti
(a) Pramana — true congnition
Pramana constitutes pratyakshs — direct perception surely,
Also anumana — inference and agama — verbal testimony.
(b) Viparyaya — false congnition
Viparyaya means wrong knowledge of things surely,
And this clearly includes doubts also emphatically.
(c) Vikalpa — verbal cognition
Vikalpa — when one hears a word clearly,
Without just any corresponding reality.
(d) Nindra — sleep
Nindra or sleep but a mental state does be,
Signifies sleep subtler than mental or imagery.
(e) Smriti — memory
Smriti or memory is known very clearly,
As the reproduction of experiences surely.
