WKU Football got another commitment on Tuesday as Dade City (FL) athlete Darrion Robinson pledged to join the Hilltopper program

Robinson is 5'11 and 160 pounds. He plays for Pasco High School in Dade City, Florida which is 36 miles northeast of Tampa. Despite being a part of a 2–8 team during his junior year, Robinson still hauled in 36 catches for 548 yards and 5 touchdowns receiving. He also ran for one touchdown on 62 yards rushing.

Florida is a very competitive state and it is at least encouraging that he put up solid numbers on a bad team. He isn’t rated yet by Rivals or 247 Sports and WKU seems to be the first team to offer Robinson.

Here is his junior year highlight tape:

Robinson is the latest in a long line of Sunshine state athletes that WKU Football has brought in the fold. Nicholas Norris is a recent example of an under-recruited receiver from Florida that shined in the Brohm/Helton offense. Keeping the Florida pipeline open is huge for WKU’s success. They currently have 13 Floridians on the roster after signing three players in the 2019 class. Willie Taggart quick turnaround of the WKU program was definitely helped by Florida players (Brandon Doughty, Tyler Higbee, Andrew Jackson just to name a few)

With seniors Lucky Jackson & Quin Jernighan set to exhaust their eligibility after this season, there should be minutes to be had at the receiver position in 2020. Robinson is the second receiver in the 2020 class joining South Carolina’s Shamar Sandgren. WKU Football now sits at 8 commitments, the fifth most in Conference USA.

Here is where the 2020 class sits after Amos’ commitment
