Do not Try to Change Others

“You’re being so selfish, aren’t you?”
“How could you do something like that?”
“I’ve told you this multiple times already.”

In life, we often find ourselves in situations where we have to say these things to someone.

But if you find yourself repeating these words to someone,

it might be time to reconsider if speaking up is really the best approach.

Even kids are hard to persuade with just words,

let alone adults who hardly change their ways through conversation alone.

People only change after experiencing something unexpected

and significant like losing a job, the death of a loved one,

a major accident, or a colossal failure.

So, if you’re repeating the same nagging to someone

and it’s only leading to ongoing conflict and distress,

instead of continuing to nag, it might be best to temporarily,

or even permanently, cut ties with that person.

Foolishly, people often don’t realize

the value of those who treat them well until they’re no longer around.

Most of the time, it’s only after someone is gone that

people truly recognize their worth.
