This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. You can check out Chapter 1 of this story: The Burned Village. Find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here, or check the previous chapter: ‘Tumbling Terror’, ‘A Threshold to Ballax’, ‘Tower of Trauma’, ‘Depth of Ballax Tower’ or ‘Into the Corridor’, all by JF Danskin.

You wake in a gloomy stone room.

Your head hurts.

Sitting, up, you look around the tiny room, then stand. There’s no furniture except the bench with a dirty woollen blanket that you were lying on. No sign of Dara Blackfeather, Tox’ar, or any of your other allies.

You walk to the door. It’s locked. You yell; no response.

How did you get here?

Then you notice a metal drain in the far corner. You crouch down. It’s too small to escape, but you can see through to the neighbouring cell.

There is a creature in there, with bright yellow eyes.

You decide to:

  1. Talk to the creature (click here).
  2. Hammer on the door of the room (click here).
