Remember we established the moon in all of its glory represents the best of us — Jesus as He walked the earth. The scripture “those who walk in darkness” is a reference to people who dwell in the realm of night. If sin clouds the glory of God causes is us to be unable to reflect His light, it means that the moon at its darkest represents the worst of us. How do we reconcile the same element in nature representing both the best and the worst of us?

Isaiah 53:6–12
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word.

Jesus became the worst of us, bearing our sin and shame so that we can become the best of God bearing His glory and shining His light! The waning and the waxing of the moon is the message of the fall and redemption of humanity repeated every single month — every single month of every year of every decade of every century of every millennium of every dispensation. Nature continues to scream hoping that someday we would hear and heed to the truth of the Gospel. If the message redemption is the best of good news, then this phenomena in nature is the greatest witness there is in nature.

At this point, I want you to pay careful attention to what I’m about to say next. I’m about to share with you the most beautiful thing I’ve ever learnt, seen and observed in nature. I did not say one of the most beautiful things, I said the most beautiful intentionally. The redemption of all creation does not just come because it is programmed into the regular cycle of creation. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is the way humanity can rid itself of this darkness and begin to live in God’s light. How is this encoded in nature?

Imagine you’re standing before Jesus’ tomb in the moment He rose from the dead just before the stone was rolled away. Jesus is risen in all of His glory as God not just the best of us now but the stone is not yet rolled away. Imagine the moment the stone is first rolled away, what shape were you going to see in that think darkness?
