Greetings, Circle members and fans, and welcome back to The Crooked Circular. We have much to discus.

Iceberg’s Poetry

Crooked Circle Press is now actively operating a second publication. Iceberg’s Poetry was founded by our own Wolf Eberhardt last year, and it’s been a really great environment for the exchange of ideas among the poets of Medium. However, his free time has become far more expensive of late, and Juliet James and I have taken the reins, though he remains an editor. Iceberg’s is once again accepting applications from new writers. If you’re not familiar with that publication, this is a great moment to change that. The time I have been devoting to that is the reason for the long gap between newsletters here. Apologies for the lull.

Circle Premieres

I am thrilled to announce that two more Circle members have published their first pieces here since last we spoke (or whatever this is that we do here).

Claire Kelly is certainly not a new name to most of you. She is the motive force behind Write Under the Moon, an excellent publication having a hell of a year. I had referred to Iceberg’s Poetry as a sister publication to The Crooked Circle (though I have since become my own sister, I suppose). Write Under the Moon is the other. Claire’s powerful poetry frequently explores Life, Death, and whatever’s in between. She has shared “Yesterdays and Tomorrows,” which is an absolute gem, even by Claire’s standards.

Most of you are undoubtedly also familiar with Connie Song, as she is one of the platform’s most prolific poets. Her work is more variable than most, addressing a broad range of subject areas, but love and heartbreak feature prominently in the mix. Unlike many poets, there are no words Connie is afraid of, and I really appreciate that about her. She is a perennial cheerleader for up-and-coming writers, and so should we all be. I’m thrilled that she’s a part of this endeavor. She shared “Heat Wave” and “Running Just as Fast as I Can.”

Other New Work

Our pre-loved writers were also hard at work, and we are grateful for their continued contributions. It takes a village. Here are the pieces they’ve shared with us…

Signoff

The longer I blather on here, the less time you’ll have today to dive into the incredible writing above, and that is far more worthy of your most limited resource. On behalf of all of the contributors here, thank you for gathering ‘round the Circle.
