Top Ten Haven Stories In January
It’s been a great month, keep going Haven writers, and please keep enjoying our humor, Haven readers. A big thanks to you from myself and my fellow editor Terry.
The support of the loyal Haven readers has gotten us through what I think is a bit of a rough patch for Medium. Why is it slowing down? I think maybe because people really are having to go back to work now and can’t be on the internet all day having fun like they used to. I dunno.
Anyhow, these were the most popular stories, in reverse chronological order, the one at the top of the list here being the most recent.
Love, Christine.
Unlocking the Mysteries of the Hollywood Celebrity Life Cycle by Patrick Metzger.
Patrick kinda plays David Attenborough here as he takes us on a field trip through the wilderness of fame.
10 Writers Who Should Stop Writing Listicles by Smillew Rahcuef
Smillew didn’t include me in this list. I’m not mad.
How to Fail at Making Coffee by Mark Suroviec, M.Ed.
Mark helps us do what we do best — fail! Funny one. I’ll have mine with milk that’s gone off, please.
10 Spectacularly Stupid Sayings, Sliced and Diced by Doctor Funny, Michael Burg, MD (Satire Sommelier)
The Doctor is in — in good form with this very spectacularly stupid and fun listicle.
Will You Have Enough Money to Live Comfortably in Retirement? by the great Larrylambert.
In my own case I would say probably not but ever since I was little I had this feeling I was going to die young. Fuck, I’m pushing 40 soon so I mighta been wrong and might need to get an IRA or something, thanks Larry.
Homophobic Dad Shocked Kids Want Nothing To Do With Him, by Laura Halls.
This story about a redneck named Lenny really sums up the state of the Red States right now, have to say. Good job Laura.
What Does A Woman’s Car Say About Her Sex Drive?
My friend MonalisaSmiled nailed the funny with this one! Love ya, Mona! Thanks for letting my article inspire this great one.
(Yes, I was humble this month and I am not putting any of my own articles in here even though they might have qualified in the top ten most popular. It’s just unseemly to promote yourself this way, but anyhow, if you want to read my article it was this one that inspired Monalisa to write hers: https://medium.com/p/296881d7daa)
Your Killer Is Most Likely Someone You Know, which is great to know, isn’t it. Thanks Kristen Stark, sister in spirit who has this really useful kit you can use to find out which family member is most likely to off you!
They Stared Me Down With Lips Pursed And Their Arms Crossed! I think it’s called the reverse hierarchy where the kids think they are in charge. Brilliant as always Ruby Lee.
Don Jr. Opens New Year Selling Bibles on a ‘Rumble’ Podcast with a 7-Figure Contract. I’m not a huge fan of Junior, so I appreciated my bud Johnny Robish skewering him in this one.
