WKU Football is in the middle of a huge recruiting weekend. They are hosting several prospects for official visits and are looking to grow their class from eight commitments. On Saturday evening, the Tops gained a commitment from Minneola (FL) cornerback Jalen “Jay Jay” Williams:

Williams is 6'1'’ 175-pound athlete that plays both cornerback and receiver for Lake Minneola (FL) High School which is 27 miles west of Orlando. Williams played on the same high school as incoming WKU freshman defensive lineman Stephone Atkinson. The Hawks went 5–5 in 2018. MaxPreps didn’t have his season statistics listed but he does run a 4.6 forty yard dash with a 37.9'’ vertical.

Here is a highlight tape from his spring practice season

Williams isn’t rated yet by 247 Sports or Rivals but he does hold offers from CUSA rival Charlotte as well as FBS’s Akron. He camped at WKU on June 4th getting an offer from assistant coach Maurice Crum. He is the second commitment from the sunshine state joining Darrion Robinson who committed this week.

It is great that WKU got a great start to a huge recruiting weekend as they have several other players on campus including Georgia athlete Justin Harris & Orlando safety BJ Wagner.

Williams is the 9th commitment in the 2020 class. Hopefully, that number grows before the end of the weekend.

Here is where the 2020 class sits after Williams’ commitment
