DEFY Community
From recording and sharing your playing experience to providing valuable feedback that have shaped the game over the months, we could not be more grateful to have fostered a community of players highly passionate about what we are building here in DEFY. Some of you even went the extra mile and wrote in-depth game reviews and guides for the community.
Both our Discord and Twitter launched at the start of 2022 and have since amassed over 30,000 members and 40,000 followers respectively. We look forward to further expanding our growing community with your help in sharing the word about DEFY.
Virtual Private Masks (VPMs)
2022 is the year where we released all of the premium masks for our earliest users to grab ahold of.
These include our Genesis collection (8,888), the limited-edition Phantom Galaxies x DEFY Genesis collection (435), and the latest Uprising collection (10,000). There is also a very limited series of Fusion masks (100) made available exclusively as a reward for partaking and winning events and competitions hosted by DEFY.
We do not have any further plans to release more premium masks in the future after the existing Uprising collection is fully minted out.
In the year moving forward, we will see towards having regular masks available alongside our eventual Public Launch to enable new players to experience DEFY with a limited free-to-play access. More details on the difference between owning a Premium and Regular mask will be shared closer to the public launch.
Game Development
If you have been with us since the earliest days of alpha, you would notice the many different changes that have occurred within the game over the months as we continually release new features and tweak old ones in efforts to get the game ready for an eventual public launch (2023).

Game Storyline (Lore)
DEFY is more than just the average mobile game, as we strive to build an engaging and constantly evolving storyline that accompanies players through their gaming experience as an Operative.
In fact, we have a web series professionally being made with the help of an official production house to enrich the lore further!
If you enjoyed the first episode, you may be pleased to note that Episode 2 has been filmed and is planned for release sometime in Q1 2023.
As we wrap up 2022 and head into 2023, the story of DEFY will similarly be wrapping up 2048 and moving into 2049. Expect more interesting developments with new characters and story arcs to be revealed via in-game events and missions. A new quest in-game is already underway that will explore the secrets of Future Systems, going into the new year.
Launch of $DEFY
2022 is the year we successfully launched our $DEFY token via an Initial Dex Offering (IDO) with Polkastarter as well as an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) with Bybit. This allows us to move to the next stage in building our game, as having the token live is a critical part of enabling the full game mechanics for our users. We also look forward to making $DEFY available in more exchanges in the future.

Web Marketplace
The web marketplace serves as a platform that enables Operatives to buy and sell in-game NFT assets such as raw materials for crafting, drone parts, and even fully built drones. Users may purchase exclusive DEFY merchandises such as t-shirts and hoodies from the marketplace as well.
All purchases are carried out via $DEFY, allowing the marketplace to play a significant role in keeping the economy healthy and sustainable.
Events and In-Game Quests
From testing Operatives in-game hacking and decryption skills to designing decals and creating memes, we have hosted several events over the past year and look forward to organising more throughout 2023.
Stand a chance to win a super limited Fusion Mask by coming out in top place in select events. Only a total of 100 Fusion Masks will ever be available, of which 5 have been won to date.
Events aside, our in-game missions thus far have been centered around Operation Alpha and Operation Cadre. A brand-new quest awaits with the launch of our beta phase, and we look forward to revealing more in the new year.

A Look into 2023
While our recent beta release has brought about several new gameplay features to be tested over the next couple of months, there are still many more things we have in the pipeline as well as longer-term plans for the game.
