“Pull Quotes” of a 2 Year Old: Week 49
…Growing Pain
It has been both wonderful and awful to field “Aww”s and “I heard the news” sad-faces from all my daughter’s teachers and caretakers. It’s great to know that she is going to be missed, but it also twinges the tiny part in me that loathed my first day at a new school (yes, crying in the schoolyard). When her gym class hero told me she was really bummed and I said that everyone seems to be, she noted “Yeah, you’ve got a solid one.” I quipped what I fear most, “Yeah, I just hope we don’t break her.”

Recap:
The truth is: our daughter will very likely be better off than her parents in making new friends in our new home. That crying new boy in the schoolyard eventually grew up, found a wonderful friend and made a wonderful growing little girl. “Daddy, come on!”
