This is deeply disturbing to me. Although extending our lifespans and our quality of life is a noble pursuit, I have no desire to live forever. Just the idea of eternity is terrifying, whether it’s part of a belief system or an eventual reality. I’m not particularly religious, but I do think that in our attempt to play God, we will end up creating our own eternal hell.
