22. Boomer — A gift from the Skies
Boomer appeared to float in the air in the exact way giant pieces of metal should not. Somehow being born on this unusual planet, known as Planet BOOM!, had given them the ability to make gravity conform to their will. Their ego was nearly as big as their Body. From their very hatching they had been applauded and praised by the other monsters, giving them the belief that they could do no wrong.
The first Monster to be created by other Monsters, with no human involvement in the Lab. Their EGG had been regularly covered in the rewards that rained down after the planets exploded. As a result, they were born with stats and abilities normally not possessed till after many months of training or fighting in the arenas.
Although large, and tough looking, they still had a child-like side. Not immature but a longing to be part of a family. In their minds they considered HalfHatched their father and Oblivion their mother. Seeking advice and comfort from both whenever they could. Boomer also enjoyed greeting all the new arrivals to Planet BOOM! a place he felt a unique ownership over. His enthusiastic welcome often the first thing the Monsters experienced as they stepped from HalHatched’s ship.
Their first journey to see Eggies World had been both exciting and terrifying. It was so much more vivid than the planet they had hatched on. Cities. Lava. Ice. Candy…
And Humans!
Humans were possibly the most terrifying of all. They had heard that Professor Eggies had wanted to meet them in his Hideout and that the Vassal Corporation wanted to dissect and study them. Luckily, for the moment, Boomer was always surrounded by a protective guard of Monsters. Creating life was a new feeling for them. Up until then, all they had known was fighting and death.
So Boomer was safe…..for now…
