This is a LIVE case study where I am documenting my journey to becoming a highly paid marketing consultant by blogging everyday for 50 consecutive days. It’s called “50 Days to Freedom: My Journey to 5 Figures in 50 Days“. At the end of the post, you will find links to all the previous days.

When marketing online or offline, don’t be scared to niche down, and niche down again.

For example..

There are 13,000+ real estate agents here in Sin City.

That is a lot of competition.

Now, if you become the first time home buyer specialist who serves married couples aged 25–35, now you’re talking.

You most likely created a “Category of 1” and virtually eliminated your competition.

There certainly could be other agents serving that market, but not many. It is much easier to be a big fish in a small pond than it is being a small fish in a big pond.

Why You Want to Do This

You can speak to the specific problems those people have — the ones that keep these people up at night

You understand their problems better than they can.

You can speak to their soul with your message.

You now have someone who wants to do busienss with you, as you “understand them”.

Empathy is your secret weapon when marketing.

You’re now looked at as a specialist.

Generalists fight for scraps at the $3 buffet.

Specialists have Caviar for breakfast with champagne bubble baths.

And yes, I tied a marketing lesson with a Biggie lyric…
