The cloud is the great equalizer, allowing small startups to think big from day one.

This article is one of many other volumes for the Winter ’24 Release Notes — The Funny-ish Summary. If you want to jump to a specific Topic please use the links at the bottom of this page.

General Enhancements

  • www.internet.com: The setup pages will be moved to a new domain, something like *.salesforce-setup.com.
  • MFA enforcement is scheduled to begin with Summer ’24. As a reminder MFA is CONTRACTUALLY required since FEBRUARY 1ST 2022. Roadmap this 👉 Way!.
  • This Message Will Self Destruct In Five Seconds! when you create a public link to share a file, choose a date when the link expires and also a password to protect the file (not applicable for links to folders).
  • Say goodbye to yesterday’s innovations! The “News”, “automated account fields”, and “automated account logo” are going to be retired on October 13, 2023.

Salesforce Scheduler

  • Send an email to your customers with an appointment invitation URL that shows the availability options of your service resource. The appointments booked using this URL are automatically tracked.
  • When Life’s so fast-paced, that even your shadow can’t keep up. When a service resource is no more available, a territory manager or a greeter can easily assign the customer another service resource.
  • The wheel of time turns and returns. Recurring shifts can now be for longer periods, up to 180 days. They can also have 10 exception dates. They can be cloned. And they have now a field “Recurrence Pattern” much easier to read.
  • In 1998, the Internet Engineering Task Force created the iCalendar, or ICS, file format. ICS files are plain text files that … ok I’m just joking! The point is: You can now create a record-triggered flow that sends emails including an ICS file.

Salesforce Enablement

  • New names for the different Permissions and Permission Sets along with new Permission Set Groups. Check it out.
  • New Program Item “Feedback Request” that can be used to submit a feedback request to one or more reviewers who’ll receive an email with a link to an assessment survey. In a nutshell, it’s all about collaboration.
  • New “Milestone Completion Status report” to get more granular detail on the progress made toward milestones by your users.
  • Let your users click on outcomes and milestones to compare their progress against the goal’s requirements. Plus, users now see a message that indicates when it’s no longer possible to get credit for the goal completion.
  • Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. In the program assignment window, you can now filter the users that you want to assign to a program by their profile, role, and public group (Previously, only public group was possible). Also now with one click, you can select all filtered users (Previously, you had to scroll to load all users and then select the header row checkbox).

HyperForce

  • Salesforce solutions can now be deployed in more regions thanks to public clouds. Check the list here.
  • Hyperforce Assistance is now GA for production and sandbox orgs.
  • If you ever checked the structure of a Salesforce ID you would know that the 6th character was reserved for the future. Guess what? the future is today. The 4th, 5th, and 6th characters are now defining the Server ID.
