Salesforce B2B and D2C Commerce

  • Ready to shop like there’s no tomorrow? Your cart’s got a major upgrade to fit 2,000 items — just give your Salesforce Administrator a nudge and let the shopping spree begin 🛒💃 !
  • 👋 Wave goodbye to the yawns 🥱🥱 of creating product text fields — let Einstein Generative AI work its magic! And with the new Einstein Frequently Bought Together feature, you’ll impress customers without lifting a finger!
  • Use the new Enhanced Commerce Setup Center and the Store Setup Assistant, and watch your Org go from zero to Commerce hero in a snap!
  • Commerce Reorder Portal Invitations? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Activate the ‘Invite Contact to a Reorder Portal cadence’.

  • Ever had that ‘Where’s my order?’ panic? Fear not, guest shoppers! Head to the order lookup page, input your order number, last name, and email, and access your order detail.
  • To improve your store search engine optimization (SEO), give your URLs a makeover 💅 — forget ID numbers, make them look pretty using SEO-friendly URL slugs. GA
  • Using structured data to enhance search results is like adding sprinkles to a cupcake 🧁 — it makes it look better and more tempting to grab! GA
  • Media migration madness 🤯🤯, begone! New LWR stores that use an enhanced CMS workspace can now also access media from non-enhanced CMS workspaces.
  • Customize your Salesforce CDN settings like a pro by toggling image optimization and web application firewall (WAF) rules. Safeguard your storefront domain with up to 10 custom WAF rules using autonomous system number (ASN), IP, or country filters. Previously locked settings? Not anymore! Already provisioned domains? They’re happily unaffected by this upgrade.
  • Guess what 🤔? Customer service reps can put in orders for customers using Order Entry, no fancy Order Management license needed.
  • Ever heard the saying “Look before you leap?” Well, let your customers “See the price before they spree!” Show products pricing details using the Product Pricing Details component.
  • Equip yourself with the right tools 🧰🛠️: Customize your Commerce storefronts using pre-built Lightning web components from the GitHub-based Public Commerce LWR Library.
Using the Public Commerce LWR Library toolbox
  • Level up your checkout game with Experience Builder’s new Checkout components! They’ve got more building blocks than a LEGO castle 🏰. Swap out those ‘Legacy’ bricks for the updated components.
  • Picture this 📸: A simplified and complete view of promotions. Replace the Coupons and Promotions legacy components by the new Coupons and Applied Promotions subcomponents for LWR stores.
  • They come 🚶, they review their order 🔍, they make changes 🔀 or return to individual product pages ↩️… all in the midst of checking out. The updated Cart Items component for LWR stores now shows customers their cart contents during checkout.
  • The Product Set component just became Detective Conan, solving the mystery of tracking customer behavior in the Data Cloud! 🕵️‍♂️

Omnichannel Inventory

  • You can’t control everything… but you can control an item’s shipping fate, making it ineligible to ship from a specific location but still available for in-store pickup.
  • Feel like James Bond while tracking your Inventory reservation through fulfillment process using your top-secret code 🤫: The new reservationId field on the Transfer, Fulfill, and Unreserve Inventory Reservation APIs.

Salesforce Order Management

  • Wanna reduce out-of-stock errors during the Order on Behalf Of process? Well, the way I see it, there are only two possibilities: One, you create inventory reservations during checkout ; two, you create inventory reservations during checkout!
  • When placing orders on behalf of customers, you can now search for products using product names or key search terms instead of just SKUs or IDs. Nope, it’s not too good to be true. Check this.

Salesforce Payments

  • Shout it from the rooftops 🗣: PayPal, Venmo and direct debit methods such as ACH, BECS, and BACS are now available natively with Salesforce Payments.
  • Reveal the itemized products or stick with the predefined amounts — Your Choice on the Pay Now Page!
  • Customize payment links: choose single-use or party mode 🥳 (i.e multiple-use for distribution to multiple people), and even give them an expiry date 🗓, because even links need a curfew.
  • Add Express Payments to your Pay Now page — letting customers shop like VIPs, minus the repetitive form-filling. PILOT
  • You can generate B2C payment data that’s visible in the Payments Workspace. How? that’s a story for another time.
  • So when someone asks you, “Hey, how do we manage User Access to Salesforce Payments Data?” you will be prepared to say, (or maybe even sing 🎤️🎶): By assigning different owners to merchant accounts. Whoever owns a merchant account automatically gets access to the account’s payment intent records.
