In a world of standardization, customization stands out as a mark of innovation and personalization.

This article is one of many other volumes for the Winter ’24 Release Notes — The Funny-ish Summary. If you want to jump to a specific Topic please use the links at the bottom of this page.

Permissions

  • Reporters Gonna Report! Build reports on custom permission set and permission set group assignments. This is worth 64,950 Points on IdeaExchange.
  • What if I told you that now you can see a permission set’s all enabled object, user, and field permissions on one page, in addition to which permission set groups the permission set is included in. This one is worth 15,470 Points on IdeaExchange. BETA
  • Should any Permission Set Group refuse to cooperate and engage in unauthorized actions subsequent to a recent deployment, we are prepared to intervene. An error message, along with pertinent details, will be displayed, affording you the chance to activate the “recalculate” option in order to enforce compliance with regulations.
  • Now when adding objects or fields to permissions Salesforce will display their API names next to the labels. This will help you quickly identify and differentiate between components that have the same label.
  • User Access Policy filters enhancements: Now you can filter by up to three permission sets, permission set groups, or managed package licenses. Previously only one was possible. BETA

App Builder

  • Stay Flexy! Dynamic Forms is now supported on hundreds of LWC-enabled standard objects.
  • Dynamic Forms on Mobile are now GA for on all Dynamic Forms-supported objects.
  • Quick actions on related lists are now GA. Remember, Only Create a Record and Update a Record quick actions are supported. This is at least 39,220 Points on IdeaExchange.

Sharing

  • Create reports on the Account Share object. Yes, it was not possible before! I’m as shocked as you!
  • Now you can see which users, roles, and other groups have been added to public groups by creating a custom report type. Yep, same here, still shocked!
  • New “Event Monitoring” Event Type! Monitor when members are added to or removed from public groups or queues using the new Group Membership event type.
  • Yet, another one. Insufficient Access event type. This one will monitor when a user was not able to access or transfer records of type account, case, contact, and opportunity.
  • Faster Account Sharing Recalculation for Contact, Case and Opportunity. While I could delve into numerous specifics here, why not simply take a look at this very nice article.

External Services

  • This last section will be short & sweet! Edit the parameters, sample request, and sample response body for HTTP Callout methods POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE. Previously, this was only possible for the GET method. That’s the gist of it. Just as I said: short and sweet.
