ViVi (Japanese fashion Magazine) had an interview with the youngest member of INI, Matsuda Jin, who was born from “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2” right after his debut! Even though he is the youngest member of the group, he has a kind heart that makes the team excited and cares for the members, and the gap between him and the members on stage makes him a member to watch out for. Q.14 How did you spend the night before the final?
During the rehearsal the day before, I felt nervous and exhausted like never before. On the other hand, I thought, “I should be grateful to everyone for the final,” and “I was able to come this far because of this environment,” and I chanted “Thank you so much!” in my mind, and went to bed imagining my name being called!
Q.15 What would you like people to pay attention to?
I’ve been told by some people that I have a totally different atmosphere on stage than I do in everyday life. I’m usually the type of person who chats with everyone and makes a lot of noise. However, I always try to get into the song on stage, and the difference between the two makes me look like “Jun Matsuda, you’re totally different!” I hope I can make that a point of appeal!
Q.16 You are the youngest in INI, but what do you think is the one thing you can’t lose to your older brothers? What do you think?
I think I’m as good as anyone at getting people excited. In the future, I would like to make the whole team feel better by getting everyone excited, both during practice and during conversations!
What kind of person is Jin from the members’ point of view?
I think people have a strong impression of Jin as a cheerful and energetic person, but there is more than that. More than anyone else, Jin sees through each person’s worries and insecurities, and naturally gives them the words they want most each time, which I think is a wonderful part of him.
