Thank you for writing a solid article on the importance of treating writing seriously (or well, ‘as a job’). So many people I know assume that writing is what you might call ‘piss easy’. Sure, it’s not nuclear physics, but it deserves the same amount of respect and focus (both from others and the writer/author/poet themselves).

Start by doing less.
Analyze what you say, how you travel, what you eat, the impact of your work on others.
Consider the information you read, the entertainment you consume, the songs you listen.
