“New York isn’t New York without you, love,” goes the opening line of a song that was not written about the Brooklyn Nets. Not even a punchline, they’re just utterly superfluous. The city’s apathy towards the Nets’ continued existence is surpassed only by their own, but they’re worth watching—if only for their irrational, vaguely noble insistence on still fielding a team for all 82 games.
