Card game modes: An overview
Untangle the Dizzyness Down the Dizzy Hole: This overview links you to all the different card game modes published on Medium to date! — All of these can be played with the original Dizzy Lizzy cards, and some also include the (optional) use of the Dizzy Dice — which in turn can be used with the LookyLizzy poster to create a throw-and-search game.
Dizzy Lizzy started with ‘Nice ‘n Easy’ and ‘Down ‘n Dizzy’, Two competitive game modes based on the same principle of an ever-changing-Lizzy.
Nice ‘n Easy & Down ‘n Dizzy are, together with ‘Tag-Team Challenge’, ‘Shuffle Puzzle’, ‘Dizzy Detectives’ (+‘Guessy Lizzy’), and ‘Circle Share’ published in the very first store edition of Dizzy Lizzy! These game modes form the introduction to the Dizzy Lizzy cards.
But these 6 game modes are only a part of all the game modes invented: Just like a regular set of cards, Dizzy Lizzy enables countless play mode variations in varying levels of complexity. Together with our players, we continuously come up with new ways to play.
With plenty of game modes released and more to come, the infinite possibilities of Dizzy Lizzy can become a bit… Dizzying. That’s why, in this article, we’ve worked out an overview that links you to all the different card game modes published on Medium.com Dizzy Lizzy Game to date!

1. Nice ‘n Easy
New to Dizzy Lizzy? Start here! It’s a great way to get introduced to the novel mechanic of the Dizzy Lizzy cards. You’ll be laying down cards in a jiffy!
2. Down ‘n Dizzy
Ready for the dizzying next step after Nice ‘n Easy? Try Down ‘n Dizzy! Letting all go simultaneously turned the strategic gameplay of Nice ‘n Easy into a hectic speed-frenzy with Down ‘n Dizzy!
3. Tag-team Challenge — Bring a new twist to the two game modes above by collaborating with your competitors to compose Lizzies and lay down your cards together! — This game mode includes a variation with the Dizzy Dice!
4. Grab ‘n Stack-it — Turns around the challenge of all game modes above — spot Lizzy combinations and make as many Lizzy combinations as you can (instead of laying them down).
5. Catch ‘n Snatch — A clever variation on Grab ‘n Stack-it, where the goal remains to grab as many cards as you can by spotting Lizzy combinations! — This game mode includes a variation with the Dizzy Dice!
6. Dizzy Memory — A Dizzying twist to the traditional memory game, where you open 3 cards at a time in an attempt to turn valid Lizzy combinations!
7. Guessy Lizzy — ‘Who is it?’ with a Lizzy twist! In Guessy Lizzy, two or more players interrogate each other to be the first to find out their opponents’ Lizzy!
8. Tic-tac-tango — Go toe to toe in this dizzying one-on-one Tic-Tac style Lizzie battle! Or is it more of a grid-style 1v1 challenge?
9. Shuffle Puzzle — A Dizzy Lizzy puzzle that is different every time! This game mode is a little brain challenger that can be played alone, collaboratively, or competitively! — This game mode includes a variation with the Dizzy Dice!
10. Dizzy Duo Battle — A dizzyingly strategic game mode that demonstrates just how deep the Dizzy hole can go.
11. Circle Share — Collaborate to organise all Lizzies with the same colour and pattern back together… blindly! — This game mode includes a variation with the Dizzy Dice!
12. Dizzy-Docu — Collaborate to complete this Sudoku-style Lizzy Challenge that’s different every time you play.
13. Dizzy Detectives — There is a mystery Lizzy on the table. It’s up to you to work together and unravel her colours and patterns without looking!
14. Lizzy Ghosties — A dizzyingly strategic grabbing game where you start alone but finish together… Will you end with team Lizzies, or will you turn to the Ghosties? — This game mode includes a variation with the Dizzy Dice!
